It doesn't mean that the furniture actually causes cancer; it just says that a chemical such as formaldehyde is used in manufacturing the furniture and may cause cancer (e.g., if swallowed). Our furniture is compliant with California 93120 for formaldehyde phase 2. 93120 is about how much formaldehyde is off gassed from a product at 73 degrees. California has very strict rules when it comes to manufacturing home use products and our furniture is compliant with all of them. Question:	Could this be used as a rug for a bedroom
Answer:	Seeing as it's acrylic fiber it would slide around unless it's on a carpet. Also, it's dry clean only so as a rug that would get dirty over time, you have to be willing to take it to the cleaners far more often then if you used it as a throw. This is simply a throw, thus it won't be as thick as a rug, nor will it have the durability of a rug and be worn down far quicker then a rug.

Answer:	Yes! I have washed and dried it more than once. I did not wash it in any fancy way, just threw it in with a warm load. I dried it on a delicate "auto dry" cycle in a standard dryer. No issues at all. It did not shrink, the cable knit pattern stayed intact without pulling. No damage or issues with the knobby underside.
