Answer:	I think it is somewhere in between. It is not heavy, but it has enough weight to hold its shape. I really like it. I had a comforter before for years and it was so bulky. I wanted something different. I have gotten a lot of compliments on this quilt. I have two real quilts made by my grandmother... they are softer than this. This holds its shape... it is a little stiffer. Hope this helps

Answer:	It is thin - that's what a coverlet is. It is soft and thin. The color is true and the design is beautiful. A couple things about it that I didn't know before purchasing - the shams don't match the picture. They do not have a 2" edge like the picture shows. Also, it is heat-pressed to mimic real quilting and not truly a quilted pattern.

Answer:	For others curious about the answer to this question: I just bought this as well (Aug. 2020). The advertisement is false and the seller that answered the question is also wrong. It is microfiber-clearly labeled on the blanket but no where on the packaging. I am returning this because I just get too dang hot with microfiber (polyester and polyamide); as you may know, it traps the body heat and does not "breathe" like cotton filling.

Answer:	The shams are king size when ordering a king quilt. I made the mistake of ordering a king quilt for my queen bed so it would fit and not show the mattress or dust ruffle. The problem is the shams are so big that the pillows stick out a little in each end of the bed. I guess I'll stick to ordering oversize queen bedding from now on.
