Answer:	It is sewn onto an elastic that goes all the way around the bed So it is literally a skirt. FYI it came very very wrinkled and even when ironed flat was at least 1/4 inch shorter than advertised. I did not keep it so I can’t attest to durability or whether it not it stays on. I would guess doubtful based on how it is made.
