Question:	Where do you position it
Answer:	My orthopedist instructed me to place the roll at the waistline, not lower, where it would push the waist vertebrae into the wrong position. The back is supposed to have a slight concave curve at the waistline. Wearing the roll lower creates more of a straight spine from top to bottom. Not good. BTW, I have used the McKenzie roll since 1976. For someone with a bad back it makes long car/plane/bus rides totally doable. There is no roll out there that could perform better, I'm sure!

Mackenzie has a whole line of support products, and a regular firmness lumbar roll. Firm was just recommend to my 280 lbs self for better posture from my chiropractor. One positive feature of the Vive was a pocket to fit the zipper head in so it's not jabbing your back.

Answer:	About 9 inch depending on configuration. I measured it as a straight out pull from the desk. However, as the pictures shows it can be raised so some of the horizon length would than translate to vertical length there by making the distance from the desk shorter along the horizon length. Question:	Is this hard or soft
Answer:	I have the 12” and the 14”, but I have also slept on the 10”. The 10” is VERY FIRM. The 12” is regular firmness and good for bad backs or larger people. The 14” is my preference since I have fibromyalgia and many sore areas. It is soft, but not overly soft.

Answer:	I have them both as well and yes it is cooler than the non-gel version. It also feels firmer and a much better nights rest. I recommend this over the non-gel version.

Answer:	The gel infused mattress is cooler. I have 2 of these mattresses. I have the 12” and the 14”. The 14” is much softer. Also, I had a mattress protector on it the first few nights and it made it so hot. Don’t use a mattress protector. You are negating the cooling technology of the mattress. As soon as I removed the protector, it was comfortably cool.

Question:	what are the dimensions for the lumbar roll without the packaging
Answer:	This Roll, measures from my right hip to my left hip. It does not go much past my body on either side. If you are looking for a back lumbar support for sitting this is a great one to get. It is a half roll. My PT suggested I get one, and my Chiro approved this one. He noted the full rolls {which are thick and round as stated below}, are too much for sitting lumbar support. Both of the books by Mckenzie were prescribed as homework by my PT and again approved by my Chiro. These Original support rolls were noted in the books. :} I love mine!

Answer:	I don't have a recliner, but I use it sitting in a chair and lying on my back in bed. I wouldn't say it's comfortable, it takes some getting used to, but I love it, I wake up or stand up without the back pain I used to have.

Answer:	Yes, there is a zipper across the back of it and you can completely remove the cover. The fabric is synthetic and washable. I would recommend the book along with the back support. Answer:	I can see why you asked since the description doesn't really describe the difference. From the pictures, I would say that the 700 (which is what I got) is fatter than the 705. I find that the 700 works for me but if I had it to do over, I would get the 705. That said, the 700 is fairly compressible so it is not uncomfortable. I usually use it in the car.
