Answer:	What I did to help with the smell was to dry it in the dryer with no heat for more than the 5 mins stated (actually about 40 total). Then 24 hours under the ceiling fan. Unfortunately I still have no working Sulfres lamp. The first one did not arrive and I was reimbursed, the second one arrived defective and I am in the process of returning it. To answer your question: if you are a handy person and have a good drill with a metal bit you should be able to drill a couple holes through the metal plate and mount the light with appropriate screws to the flat backboard of your bed. Myself, I would buy a couple edge clamps, the kind you mount mirrors on the wall with and be able to mount the light as is. I hope this advice works.
