Answer:	Mine didn't have any funny smell, it was a very nice pillow. However, I did end up returning it as it was not comfortable for my neck curve. Great free return option on this, so you have nothing to loose by trying it...

Answer:	GREAT!!! You’ll have to maneuver yourself or the pillow a bit because the best support for side sleepers is on either side, not the middle. It’s easy to get adjusted to using the sides vs the middle though.
