Answer:	The “gel lubricant" is more liquid than the ointment; and it is dispensed as drops (thick drops). Whereas the ointment is more like a thick (clear) paste/lubricant, which is then spread on to the eye, with your finger.

Answer:	There has not been a change to the product. I’m guessing that the tube you have with a white cap instead of the usual black cap, is a knock-off. The 2 pack knock-off I unknowingly purchased from a vendor on Amazon was thicker, came in a smaller tube, had writing in English and French on the packaging, and was manufactured by a different company. I prefer the real deal. It is my opinion that Amazon should remove this choice, it’s not authentic.
