Answer:	I suppose the lumbar cushion will fall through the opening, there is a strap on the lumbar, it may help to fix it on the folding chair but it may not work very well as the lumbar will slip away or slip out then your back lean against on it. Answer:	Yes. I washed it in my HE Front loading machine on delicate. Then put it in the matching dryer on ‘air no heat’. Reduced about 90% of the shedding. I suspect the second wash will completely eliminate it. I don’t know why people say you can’t wash this or put it in the dryer, just follow the instructions and it turns out perfectly fine.
