Answer:	The end cap is a hair over 3/4 inch in diameter. Seems as if it would fit in a 1 1/4 inch pocket. Maybe add a little safety margin.

When it the unlocked position it should slide freely to the desired length, and then lock with an opposite twisting motion to how it was unlocked. Due to the lack of spring, we recommend making the rod slightly larger than the installation location and inserting on an angle, with a final push into a level position. Question:	How do I get this to work? There seems to be something missing that holds the rod at the right length
Answer:	Extend it slightly larger than the inside of the window casement. Once you have the appropriate length extended out, spin one end of the rod to the right and it will lock it to that length. Then position it inside the casement by putting one rubber stopper end in the place where you want the rod to hang. Then wedge the other rubber stopper end into place on the other side of the casement. You don't need an inner spring to use this model.

Answer:	I had to buy rod end caps that screw into the wall and the rod ends fit inside of it. The rod will hold the weight but the ends are to slippery to stay up on its own. The end caps were $2, cheap. Rod works great now and is nice looking.

Answer:	Odd question. I can only say they are certainly wide enough to support a heavy shower curtain without any slippage after a couple months of usage. I would have to take the rod down to measure, and I won't do that. I can only say that it has performed outstandingly in every way ease of adjustment and usage for its intended purpose. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be free of eternally adjusting one of the many other ones I have used. Put another way, the ends ard big enough to do the job just right.

It broke from being twisted the wrong way.What's gonna happen if someone puts wet clothes on it? Do you imagine the rod snapping in half? Would this work for kids clothes

Answer:

The ones I purchased were about 12 inches. I needed something for a little cubby to hold the shampoo and body wash on the RV from flying off the shelf. I tried the elastic bungee cords but with heat and moisture build up the tabs kept letting loose. These tension rods work wonderful and haven't had to pick stuff off the floor or try to catch stuff out of the cabinets since I got them. As for holding kids clothes? Not these little ones but if you don't overload the heavier ones they should work.
