• Keep head straight and look forward. No need to bend the neck.

• Place bottle tip into one nostril and point tip toward the back of the throat, not the eyes. Do not point tip upwards. Hold the bottle, so the water line aligns with bottle Level Lines.

• Ensure tip rests against nostril, making a tight seal.

• Take a breath and hold it, in order to block the back of your throat. While holding that breath, gently squeeze the bottle until the solution exits the opposite nostril.

Many neti pots hold 8 fl oz. Simply follow the directions above, adjusting the amount accordingly.When using a neti pot, or other large-volume irrigation device, we recommend mixing Alkalol with a salt water solution instead of plain water to ensure the best experience. Answer:	Amazon itself is not selling this item. It is offered only by third-party sellers like myself (who buy it at places like Walmart). :) My typical customer is someone who doesn't live close to a Walmart, or perhaps doesn't drive, or maybe leads an extremely busy lifestyle and needs to pay someone to shop for them. That is essentially what they are doing when they buy from me - pay me to shop for them. My price on this item is currently $24.98, so after Amazon takes out $6.70 in fees, I'm left with a couple dollars to compensate me for my time to buy it, list it and ship it to Amazon's warehouse. Answer:	These are more than just salt. The baking soda buffers the saline solution, making it less irritating. I see no reason you can't gargle with this, but cheap table salt is probably at least as good. You can make the same thing a lot cheaper with pure salt (not iodized or with preservatives) and baking soda, but these single-use packets are convenient and cost only ~10 cents/use.
Question:	what is the net content weight for each packet they are not marked
Answer:	These contain 2.3 g of sodium and 0.7 g of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) per packet. Neil med contains 2.0 g of sodium plus not-listed baking soda. To be isotonic with the blood's usual max. of 0.145M sodium concentration, there should be a max. of 2.01 g of sodium per 8 fluid oz. of water (yes, I am a certified master chemist with a graduate degree from IIT). Overdoing it by 15% -as is done here- should be negligible and possibly beneficial since it would tend to make blood vessels push out liquid and reduce pressure but it's probably dilute enough to not have any effect. Note that 0.7 g of baking soda increases the molar concentration of sodium by only 0.02, which is negligible.

Question:	Can you use your own salt solution or must you use the expensive SaltPod with this unit
Answer:	I didn’t use it very often as I think I would. I neither changed the filter nor cleaned it. I just used it once or twice and just wiped it after I use.

Question:	Can I switch which nostril is incoming flow and which is outgoing flow? Didn't want to say "pick", ha ha
Answer:	Yes. I have used it on myself before, although I have a rather small nose. It is definitely size for an infant to use so if you have large nasal passages it may not work as well.
Question:	Can you stop the water flow and have the machine suck everything out, or are you still left with some solution in your sinuses afterwards
Answer:	There’s actually the very tip of the aspirator that the boogers get sucked into nd then they go into the tube. They also have filters for that purposely only. So you don’t get a mouth full of boogers. This thing has helped me out so much, especially when cold season hits.

New User Tip: Position the nose pillows correctly and keep your head level.

First, press the pillows in firmly to create a good seal. Once the cycle is initiated, back off a little to increase the flow. It's all about position (keep the tips centered and unblocked), and pressure (just enough to make a seal).

If a pillow tip is blocked, suction will decrease or stop, and you may get water down your throat.

Relax, smile, and stand up straight with your head level. This keeps the Nose Cleaner in the right position and allows the saline to flow freely though your nose.
