This is an ENZYME that works to break down bean type fiber. And if you need that...you usually need a whole capsule (if not two). It's to PREVENT gas from being created (by bacteria in your colon that would otherwise ferment it, if the enzyme didn't get to it first),. It will do NOTHING to alleviate any existing gas (such as GAS-X might do).It designed to be taken with a meal in which you eat bean type fiber (which covers a lot more than just beans). Ideally you'd take just before eating. Taking it after you've eaten (particularly for a small meal...such as a handful of Bean Chips) may reduce it's effectiveness.
