The average individual in these studies are not women with heavy periods, pregnant, anemic, people with cancer, blood donors, or iron deficient in any way. The 45mg number is created for those who have normal iron levels but don't consume enough in their diet to maintain better/preferred iron levels. Keep in mind if you ever take your iron supplement with food, you are going to reduce absorption. Iron from non-animal sources, such as blackstrap molasses and plant based supplements, must be taken with lemon and lots of water because it is water soluble. Also, if you get enough iron in your diet and took a 7mg iron supplement, it would be considered toxic and unsafe. I quit these pills and flushed them down the toilet. Not because they didn't work, but because of how well they did. There is a sensation that goes with taking these pills, at least for me and a few others based on the reviews. These pills causes a sensation that makes your skin feel as if it's burning accompanied with severe itching. It only lasts for about ten to fifteen minutes but during that stretch it's quite uncomfortable. During one of these episodes I decided to check my blood pressure and it was extremely high. That did it for me. Sad thing is that I was dropping pounds fast with this product. Energy level was raised and it does curb appetite. But unfortunately the side effects I can't deal with. |
