11 best dry contact lenses
Dry contact lenses, also known as hard or rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses, are a type of contact lens made from a durable, breathable material. These lenses are designed to correct vision and are called "dry" because they do not contain water like soft contact lenses do.Instead, they allow oxygen to pass through the lens material to maintain eye health and comfort.
Here are some key points about dry contact lenses:
Material: Dry contact lenses are typically made from a rigid, gas-permeable material that allows oxygen to reach the cornea of the eye. This is important for maintaining the health of the cornea, as it needs oxygen to function properly.
Vision Correction: Dry contact lenses are primarily used to correct vision problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. They provide clear and stable vision by precisely focusing light on the retina.
Durability: Compared to soft contact lenses, dry contact lenses are more durable and have a longer lifespan. They are less prone to tearing and can last for several years with proper care.
Maintenance: Proper cleaning and care are essential for maintaining the quality and comfort of dry contact lenses. This includes using contact lens cleaning and disinfecting solutions recommended by your eye care professional.
Comfort: Dry contact lenses may take some time to get used to, especially if you're transitioning from soft lenses. However, many wearers find them comfortable and appreciate their clear and stable vision.
Customization: Dry contact lenses are often customized to fit the unique shape and needs of each individual's eyes. Your eye care professional will measure your eyes to ensure a proper fit.
Consultation: If you're interested in trying dry contact lenses, it's crucial to consult with an eye care professional (optometrist or ophthalmologist). They can assess your eye health, determine if dry lenses are suitable for your prescription and eye shape, and provide guidance on proper lens care.
Soaking Solutions: Dry contact lenses are typically stored in a disinfecting solution when not in use. The solution helps clean and maintain the hygiene of the lenses. It's essential to follow the recommended soaking and cleaning regimen to prevent eye infections.
Overall, dry contact lenses can be an excellent choice for individuals who require vision correction and prefer the durability and longevity of RGP lenses. However, they may not be suitable for everyone, and it's essential to consult with an eye care professional to determine the best type of contact lenses for your specific needs and eye health.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the deal with not being able to take the cap off? Is B&L etal. afraid you might use the solution in another container as re-wetting drops |
Answer: | You should NEVER transfer lens solution from the original container to another. It's very easy to contaminate the product and the result can be as simple as an eye infection to as serious as loss of vision. Those little "travel" cases (from China) that include a purse size container should not be sold. Besides the solution is not meant for re-wetting. |
Question: | Can you use bio true for insertion of lenes |
Answer: | I don't understand how this can be a "cleaner" and yet can be used to insert lenses like saline? Can you use to insert lenses? Isn't it harsh? |
Question: | How often do you have to switch out the solution in your contact case |
Answer: | You should replace the solution only after wearing your lenses. If you are not wearing them than they can remain in the same solution. Fresh solution is a good way to clean and disinfect your lenses. |
Question: | Does this come with a contact lens case |
Answer: | Yes it comes with one. It's very nice I use it every day. |
