11 best moisture contact lenses

Moisture contact lenses are a type of contact lens designed to provide enhanced comfort and hydration for individuals who wear contact lenses. These lenses are engineered to maintain a higher level of moisture on the lens surface, helping to alleviate dryness and discomfort often associated with traditional contact lenses. Here are some key points related to moisture contact lenses, rewetting drops, contact lens care, vision, and health:

  1. Improved Comfort: Moisture contact lenses are known for their ability to retain moisture, ensuring that your eyes remain comfortable throughout the day. They are particularly beneficial for individuals with dry eyes or those who experience discomfort when wearing regular contact lenses.

  2. Hydrogel and Silicone Hydrogel Materials: Most moisture contact lenses are made from hydrogel or silicone hydrogel materials. These materials have a higher water content, allowing them to maintain moisture and provide better oxygen permeability to the eyes.

  3. Reduced Dryness and Irritation: One of the primary benefits of moisture contact lenses is their ability to reduce dryness and irritation. This can lead to improved vision quality and longer, more comfortable wear times.

  4. Use of Rewetting Drops: While moisture contact lenses are designed to provide extended comfort, some wearers may still benefit from using rewetting drops. These drops can be applied to the eyes to refresh and rehydrate the lenses throughout the day, especially in dry or arid environments.

  5. Contact Lens Care: Proper care and maintenance of moisture contact lenses are essential for maintaining eye health and lens performance. This includes cleaning, disinfecting, and storing lenses according to your eye care professional's recommendations.

  6. Prescription and Non-Prescription Options: Moisture contact lenses are available in both prescription and non-prescription options. They can correct various vision problems, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.

  7. Regular Eye Exams: Whether you wear moisture contact lenses or traditional lenses, it's crucial to schedule regular eye exams with an optometrist or ophthalmologist. They can monitor your eye health, update your prescription if necessary, and ensure your lenses are fitting properly.

  8. Improvement in Overall Eye Health: By reducing dryness and irritation, moisture contact lenses can contribute to better overall eye health. Dry eyes and prolonged irritation can potentially lead to more serious eye conditions if left untreated.

  9. Proper Lens Handling: Proper hygiene and lens-handling techniques are crucial to prevent eye infections and complications. Always wash your hands thoroughly before handling your contact lenses and follow your eye care professional's instructions.

  10. Compliance with Replacement Schedule: Moisture contact lenses have specific replacement schedules recommended by your eye care provider. Following these guidelines is essential to maintaining eye health and ensuring the lenses perform as intended.

Moisture contact lenses can be a great option for individuals seeking enhanced comfort and hydration while wearing contact lenses. However, it's essential to consult with an eye care professional to determine if these lenses are suitable for your specific needs and to receive personalized guidance on lens care and usage.

User questions & answers

Question: Can any other drops be used as re wetting drops, through out the day if needed when my eyes feel dry
Answer: Not a good idea to use on wheel studs!!! This lubricates them, causing you to stretch your studs more before you reach the typical torque setting. Stretched studs can cause early failure. Also, since when you reach whatever torque spec you are going for, and you've actually stretched the stud a bit, you might have also put extra pressure on the wheel holes themselves, possibly causing wheel cracking. I cannot recommend the proper torque setting for lubricated studs, but it's going to be less than you previously used for dry studs. Also, I believe all manufacturers use "dry" torques, not one's with lubricated studs. Not to scare anyone, but if you ever have a wheel issue where you have one come off the vehicle, you are screwed in court if you lubricated the studs to make them easier to come out.
Question: How many bottles
Answer: TSG Universal Auto Care Silicone Paste has a maximum low temperature of -40F. Keep in mind wind chill does not affect the low temperature performance of TSG. Using a lite coating of TSG will reduce friction, eliminate any possible rust or corrosion and help the overall performance of the Retractable Roll and Lock Tonneau Cover in extreme weather conditions.
Question: Is this no rub
Answer: Tribology's Universal Auto Care Silicone Paste is ideal for your Car Coolant O'Rings,. Apply a thin uniform film to the entire surface of the O'Ring, this will decrease the surface friction and help seat the O'Ring into the application.
Question: Can you use this as a lubricant on lenses before putting them in
Answer: Tribology's TSG Universal Auto Care Silicone Paste is a perfect application for your door seals. This product will rejuvenate and preserve your seals.

User questions & answers

Question: How does the Replenish compare to the Pure-Moist line? Which one is better for keeping eyes from getting dry
Answer: I'm not sure I tend to leave mine in the solution for days and get the same results as if I left them only overnight, but I know since using this solution they last longer for me and don't get uncomfortable as quick as they use to from build up and etc.
Question: Is this replenish or express? One picture says express
Answer: I contacted the manufacturer asking about this, you don't need to buy a replacement filter for the 12 oz double pack. Here's their response.: "Thank you for contacting Alcon. This email is in response to your inquiry below. When used as directed, the lens case (cup and disc) packaged with two bottles (twin pack) of CLEAR CARE® Cleaning & Disinfecting Solution is designed to be used with both bottles. Another new lens case should not be needed. The twin packs that contain more than 32 fl. oz. in the bottles of CLEAR CARE Solution are supplied with two (2) fresh new lens cases. • Discard any remaining solution 3 months after opening. • The Discard date refers to the time you can safely use contact lens care product after the bottle has been opened. It is not the same as the expiration date, which is the last date that the product is still effective before it is opened. WARNING: Using your solution beyond the discard date could result in contamination of the solution and can lead to severe infection, vision loss or blindness. • To avoid contamination, DO NOT touch tip of container to any surface. Replace cap after using. • To avoid contaminating your solution, DO NOT transfer to other bottles or containers. Should you have any follow up questions or require further assistance, please contact Medical Product Information using the contact information listed below. Thank you for your interest in Alcon products."
Question: the product images and the title seem to conflict with each other. how many 10oz bottles does this product consist of
Answer: Ideally, you should let it soak for 8 hours. If you only let them soak for 3 or 4 hours for a day it is fine as long as you soak 8 hours the next day. Even if you don't soak as long, it's very important to spend 10 seconds per contact. You should pour a little solution in the palm of your hand, put your contact in that, and then rub with your finger to clean them. Basically you're trying to clean deposits off of them like proteins and oils. It's kind of like if you take anxiety dish with mold on it and dip it in soapy water and then rinse, it won't be clean. You have to run it and get all the stuff off. Hope this helps!
Question: Agree, product image and title conflict. Is this a 2 pack as indicates? Thanks
Answer: Yes

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I bring my Opti-Free contact lens solution on an airplane?

A: While a standard bottle of Opti-Free solution may be permitted in your carry-on luggage by the TSA, we suggest packing a 2 oz. travel size. Visit the TSA website for more information.

Q: Why can’t I use saline solution to clean my lenses?

A: Saline solution is only meant to rinse your lenses, not clean and disinfect them. Opti-Free contact lens solutions do it all – rinse, clean, disinfect and store your lenses.

Q: Can I use my multi-purpose solution as a rewetting drop?

A: Opti-Free multi-purpose solutions are formulated for cleaning, disinfecting, and rinsing your lenses immediately before putting them in your eyes. To rewet your contact lenses once they’re on your eyes, we recommend using an Opti-Free Rewetting Drop for an additional burst of moisture.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the deal with not being able to take the cap off? Is B&L etal. afraid you might use the solution in another container as re-wetting drops
Answer: You should NEVER transfer lens solution from the original container to another. It's very easy to contaminate the product and the result can be as simple as an eye infection to as serious as loss of vision. Those little "travel" cases (from China) that include a purse size container should not be sold. Besides the solution is not meant for re-wetting.
Question: Can you use bio true for insertion of lenes
Answer: I don't understand how this can be a "cleaner" and yet can be used to insert lenses like saline? Can you use to insert lenses? Isn't it harsh?
Question: How often do you have to switch out the solution in your contact case
Answer: You should replace the solution only after wearing your lenses. If you are not wearing them than they can remain in the same solution. Fresh solution is a good way to clean and disinfect your lenses.
Question: Does this come with a contact lens case
Answer: Yes it comes with one. It's very nice I use it every day.

User questions & answers

Question: where is this manufactured
Answer: We have added a picture of the RGP case which comes with each bottle.
Question: Is there a difference between the Replenish rewetting drops and these PureMoist rewetting drops
Answer: Per my eye Dr the manufacturer wasn't producing enough. He said most eye Drs recommend this one so they got behind. Now it's available again but definitely more expensive. But I like it better than any other kind I tried for soaking and cleaning.
Question: From their website: "Can be used on silicone hydrogels and all types of soft contact lenses
Answer: Hi Barbara Thanks for your reply. Do you happen to know whether I can drop one drop of the Alcon Opti Free Supra Clens Daily Protein Remover into the unique PH solution to remove protein? Previously, I have used the Alcon Opti Free Supra Clens Daily Protein Remover with Opti Free GP Solution.
Question: Do this disinfectant
Answer: No. The Unique PH is a soaking and cleaning solution. You fill the scleral lens with sterile saline solution before inserting it in your eye. I use addipak 5ml saline solution, purchased by the box of 100. Any sterile saline solution is fine for filling the lens before inserting them in your eye.

Product features

Removes Particles that Cause Irritation

Throughout the day, particles in the air can get on your lenses and cause them to feel dry and irritating. Opti-Free Puremoist Rewetting Drops help remove those particles, to keep them comfortable for longer.

Helps Prevent Deposit Build-up

You can use Opti-Free Puremoist Rewetting Drops four or more times a day to prevent protein deposit build-up on your soft lenses. That means more comfort and less irritation.

Provides a Refreshing Burst of Moisture

Most times, your lenses feel dry because they lack moisture. Opti-Free Puremoist Rewetting Drops are an effective and convenient way of adding that moisture back to your lenses.

Perfect for On-the-Go

When your lenses feel dry, you can’t always find the time to remove them from your eyes and give them a good, moisturizing clean. That’s why Opti-Free Puremoist Rewetting Drops are so convenient. You can use them to remove particles and add moisture to your lenses while your lenses are on your eyes.

Lenses

It might be hard to believe, but sometimes it’s your own contact lenses that make your eyes feel dry. That’s because some soft contact lenses can absorb water away from the surface of the eye, resulting in irritation. Using Opti-Free Rewetting Drops gives you a way to add extra moisture throughout the day, so you experience less discomfort.

High Temperatures

Sometimes, high temperatures combined with high humidity can cause your lenses to feel irritating on your eyes. Opti-Free Rewetting Drops can fight this by helping rewet and lubricate your lenses, even on the hottest, most humid days of the year.

Wind

If your eyes are exposed to excessive amounts of wind – or even if you’re on a boat or in a convertible that’s moving fast – your eyes can get dry. Wind can also expose your eyes to particles in the air. Using Opti-Free Rewetting Drops can help lenses reduce deposit build-up and irritation.

Question: Is this a set of 3 bottles? I thought it was, but I don’t see it in my order
Answer: No. It’s only one, but the 3 represents the ounce.
Question: Can it be used on Scleral lens
Answer: Yes - I use it on scleral lenses - however I use a custom basket. My scleral lens are 16mm in diameter, so they don't fit in the inlcuded basket. I use a basket from Purilens, which is large enough to fit my lens, but still fits in the same storage container. This does require me to cut off the activation disk from the included basket so I can use it separately with my larger basket. My larger basket also has larger holes, so it cleans better. You "can" use the included basket with scleral lens - just don't close the baskets. I don't wabnt to deal with that, so I use a custom basket, but everything else from this kit works fine.
Question: How many uses per bottle
Answer: 15 to 20 easily. Depends how full u fill the vile. Just keep in mind its travel size
Question: has this product been recalled
Answer: Not that I have seen. However, I would not recommend this product under any circumstances.

User questions & answers

Question: Do these drops burn a little when used
Answer: It does have preservatives
Question: How many times can I use them a day
Answer: It quite explicitly states on the picture of the box (4th panel): “Use before the expiration date on the bottle and DISCARD THE SOLUTION 90 DAYS AFTER OPENING”. Can’t get any clearer than that!
Question: Why does it say "pack of 3" when you only receive one bottle after ordering? Feeling mislead after my delivery of this product
Answer: I use continuous wear contacts which are much more fragile than the silicone variety. If it works for me, it should work for you a well! Another option might be CLERZ which has been effective for me as well. Good Luck! GB
Question: What are the ingredients
Answer: for soft and RGP lenses only
