Answer:	These bags are a bit smaller than a shoe box. A shoe box would fit in width wise but not height wise (the box would hang out of bag).

Answer:	When the Kraft bags arrived, they were in a shipping box, no internal additional box and a 3” wide strip of plastic was around the body of the bags (running North & South, but NOT around the handles) to keep the bags together so they did not shift around in the box. No corners of the bags were crimped, folded or bent-all in perfect condition. Also, the bags did not have any odor, as some paper products o have ordered may have a “storage” smell. I was very pleased with the sturdy bag and would definitely order again. These are similar to bags you receive with merchandise purchased at finer retail stores. Hope that is helpful.
Question:	can anyone tell me how far the draw string is from the top is it about an inch. I assume the 5.4 inch is from top to bottom not bottom to string
Answer:	Just measured a shoe box containing a ladies size 8.5 dress shoe and the dimensions are 5 1/2” x 4” x 12”. The dimensions of this Kraft bag are not wide enough to fit the box lengthwise. If you turned the box north/south in the bag, the box would extend approx. 4” above the bag and you could cover w/tissue paper. If you wanted to completely hide the box in a gift bag, I suggest purchasing a larger bag. (Hopefully the measurements I have provided you will be helpful in finding the right fit for your shoe box. Keep I mind, an athletic shoe box is much larger than the dimensions I provided for the dress shoe box.)
