Answer:	It helps as long as you are using it on clean skin. Wearing during a marathon would produce heat and moisture that the pads cannot withstand. I have a unit and I really like the flexibility with wireless, but am very disappointed in the pads that are advertised to work for 20-30 times actually have only lasted me max 10 times and if I do a 5-mile walk in warm weather, the pads are often worthless after the first use.

They are made up of a gel like adhesive that has many re-uses you can glean from them but after so many, I have found the ability of the pad to deliver the same electric charge drops slowly over time. I just threw away the first 2 I used but it took me over 2 months and many many uses before that was necessary. I am enjoying the product. The charge lasts a long time on the little units and once I got the hang of how to use the control unit I find it to be precise and reliable also holding a charge for a long long time.

Answer:	Pads work best with jel, I use spectra 360, available thru Amazon. Pads need to seal flush with the skin, air gaps caused by hair, joints, wrinkles etc. will cause the pad to arc, sending a shock ( or bite ). Pads that have lost adhesive ability will also cause “biting”. And..be sure you area you are padding is completely dry before applying the jel or pad. Hope this helps
