| Answer: | it depends on the thickness and hardness of the license plate holder. They will not effectively cut something very thick. Wadded up jeans would be fine (thick but soft), a penny (copper or zinc), would be fine (hard but somewhat thin). A very hard/brittle plastic that is >0.25" thick, I do not think they would cut, they may 'crack' the plastic but likely not cut that plastic. If you are trying to 'trim' the license plate holder, and not destroy it use a slow dremel and let the plastic keep cooling during cutting or use a plastic saw, or a jig saw or some kind of saw with teeth that do not point into the direction of the cut and go slowly (or you will heat up and melt the plastic: looks bad). |

Inc. of Deer Park, NY has only "STAINLESS PAKISTAN" and "AUTOCLAVABLE 143C/290F" molded in the plastic handle, with no trademark. It is a very low quality item that not only cuts poorly but has rough die-sheared edges on the steel near the handle. The coating is so thin the steel shows through in places. It's a real piece of junk. |
