User questions & answers

Question: Does it come in another color metal? The medicnal brown color is awful
Answer: Not that I am aware of. A can of spray paint would work.
Question: The total weight I'll be putting on this table = Computer 24 lbs + junk, keyboard, typing pressure 10-15 lbs. Will it work for me
Answer: The weight limit for this table is 50lbs.
Question: Sitting in a chair does this go on your left or your right side? It says two different things in your description and "color". Thanks
Answer: The table may be placed on either side -- your choice. Be aware that you must order the correct model for placement on the side of choice. ( " Right" will have the swivel post on the right of the seated person.)
Question: Can the table be moved (slid) closer to me when I put my legs up -- then pushed back out when I sit upright -- and still stay parallel to the chair
Answer: Lance is correct. This must be used with a heavy chair. If you are talking about a recliner, it's perfect. I love mine. I keep my laptop on it and can easily push it aside to get up. The table top only pivots - it doesn't move forward and back. It will be farther away when you are reclining. How far depends on where you place the table in its starting position. I keep mine fairly tight when I am sitting up so it isn't uncomfortably far away when I recline.

User questions & answers

Question: What does it use for power
Answer: The battery unit is the up/down, on/off unit that hangs on side of chair- it also floats and comes with charger you plug into wall socket when it gets low on power. It will not go down if power is to low to lift you back, I tried it once and it works as it should. I've had mine and used daily for years with all original parts and it still works great, love it.
Question: The back lowers automatically? So if you don't want to recline to the fullest position, you have no choice
Answer: The lift goes up and down with the back in the straight vertical position. When down at the lowest level one can keep the down button pressed and the back then reclines. So if you don't want to recline you don't have to. You do have to recline the back to fold up the unit.
Question: My tub's width is 28". Will the flaps work for my tub? Thanks
Answer: The width of my tub is 29" from the outside of the tub, so it sits over the edge on both sides. The chair is about 27 from flap to flap. You would have to bring the chair closer to the outside where you load yourself to use it. My wife uses the flap to sit on and then slides over. they fill the gap so you don't fall in, and flaps really don't seem to steady it much. The suction cups hold to the bottom of the tub real well. I know it's been a blessing to us and has worked real good. I don't know how we did without it before.
Question: Does this come with a warranty? If so, what is the length of the warrenty and what does it cover? Thanks
Answer: Mine said warranty for one year. We still like our chair not only for the tub, but wife fell and could not get up. I got the chair out of the tub, lowered it all the way down, got her on the chair, raised it up to where she couild stand up. Hope this answers your question Nancy C. Question: Is it VERY easy to raise or lower? Ideally, I'd like to raise one-handed
Answer: It is almost too easy to raise-light squeeze brings it up. Probably need two hands to lower-one to squeeze, one to press down on top, but moves easily.
Question: what is the maximum pounds the table will hold
Answer: The manufacturer, Drive Medical, states the table will hold 40 lbs. easily. I can verify it holds that much and more because I recently got this same model slightly used. They are as sturdy as most basic hospital tables. Many of the questions asked here can be answered by visiting Drive Medical: http://www.drivemedical.com/index.php/non-tilt-overbed-table-121.html

Answer: Almost completely assembled. I've been "5 star" happy with this.
Question: Are wheels secure on wet pavement, will they grip
Answer: The wheels are a hard rubber, they can be slick but with weight they should be fine... I would not suggest trying to go up an steep grades by ones self even if it is not raining so you should be okay with it
Question: Are armrest height adjustable

User questions & answers

Question: If I can't make this work with our lift, can it be returned
Answer: I don’t know. You could call drive medical and ask or it might state in the add for the item.
Question: My husband is 5ft 8in and 110 pounds what size should I get
Answer: My guess is a medium. They should have a suggested weigh and height scale on their web site. My wife is 5'2" and 160 lbs, the sling works just fine in the medium size for her so perhaps the small would work better because of the weight difference but on the other hand the height may be the determining factor. Either way I believe they are returnable. And I agree the sling is heaven sent, so easy to use.
Question: patient is 6'1" and approx 250 lbs. what size would be most appropriate? lots of variation in Q&A. request a reply from the manufacturer. thank you
Answer: Hello,Thank you for your inquiry, Model 13220L would be a better choice.Hope this helps, Thank you again, Luis @ DriveLink http://www.drivemedical.com/index.php/u-sling-whead-support-433.htmlItem 13220L; Padded U Sling
Question: I am 6 feet tall 160 lb what size sling should I get small medium or large
Answer: I would suggest you measure your height when you are sitting (to ensure the sling will provide head support). When purchased this item we based it on weight and the person who is using it is petite. I hope this will be helpful.
