| Answer: | Whether my cane made noise was dependent on the surface upon which it was used carpet - no noise; granite - some sound. The cane has a flat plastic/rubber tip on the end. I did not notice an inordinate amount of noise while using it. It does make some noise while unfolding and re-folding it. All my canes made less noise if I put the tip FLAT to the surface on which I am walking.I hope this helps. |

| Answer: | I have two and just love them. Unfolded the cane is 35". I haven't folded it to less than 21". I've seen pictures of them folded into 3 parts, but I've only managed to do a single fold, which I doubt would fit in a pocket book. If I'm not using mine I fold it once and put it in a shopping bag. I can't say I'm folding it in half because that would be 18" and that's not quite right. The top and bottom aren't even. Hope this helps. |

I'm 5 feet 5 inches, and I have it adjusted to the last-but-one level. So I could make this shorter if I needed to by 1 inch, or I could make it about 4 inches taller than my current adjustment. | Answer: | They keep the metal sections from rubbing on each other (and damaging the painted finish) when you have it folded. Keep them there. I found out the hard way that if you don't use them, the edges of the folded sections rub together and ruin the look of the cane at the joints. |

I wonder what the rate of return is on this. My guess is that it is high The box had been damaged in shipment, so rather than return it, I donated it to a charity hoping that it could be helpful to someone else.Perhaps for a shorter, smaller person. Also, would be best for someone whose primary need is for a disability other than lumbar pain. The hard smallish seat put all of the pressure on my lower back. I was asked this question, because I had not returned it. I think the negative responses would far outnumber the positive if everyone who had orderedand returned this item were included!Another problem with this is that the legs and seat could easily bump my leg, someone else, or anything within 1 or 2 feet if walking on a busy sidewalk or though a shop or cafe. This made using it as a cane troublesome. I would give it zero stars. |
