The Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace treats plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and heel pain by applying pulsating compression with every step, which helps reduce swelling and enhance circulation. The medial/lateral stabilizers offer enhanced proprioception and stability. It's designed with 2 interconnected air cells, located under the foot arch and in back of the Achilles tendon. When you take a step, the first air chamber (under the arch) begins to collapse, thus reducing the stress to the plantar fascia under the arch. Air is then forced into the chamber surrounding the Achilles tendon, which in turn inflates. The inflated Achilles chamber applies compression to the Achilles tendon to shorten the lever arm, therefore reducing strain on the tendon. It's made of a latex-free, compression spandex with air cells incased in waterproof nylon. These air cells have been tested with 1,000 lbs. of pressure, which enables them to withstand the force from running, jumping and landing, and other high impact activities. The Aircast AirHeel Support Brace is already inflated, so no pump is needed. It's constructed of lightweight, breathable materials so it's extremely comfortable to wear. Simply slip the support brace on like a sock, and adjust the Velcro strap for a custom fit. Universal fit allows the Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace to be worn on either the left or right foot.

Question: | I have damaged my ankle due to rolling it too many times, is this ideal to use as cast to help ease pain from swelling caused by climate changes |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit with your normal size shoes? My daughter has another black air cast and her foot will not fit in her shoe with it on |
Answer: | I suffered a severe ankle injury about two months ago. My doctor advised me to wear these with my regular shoes. I could not get these to fit on any of my shoes so I bought two pairs of the same sneakers in different widths plus orthopedic insoles good for plantar fasciitis and now I can use them to walk around slowly. Since I already have wide (D size) feet the second pair was a EE or XX wide width. |
Question: | What is it made of |
Answer: | The outer shell is a sturdy plastic. The inside is a softer, air-and foam-filled lining that confirms to your ankle. |
Question: | Is this the type that you can add air to by opening a little area that is like a "straw |
Answer: | No - it is a soft cast filled with air already. Can't add anything to this one. |
Question: | Hello. I have a question about the product. Is it for use when I play sports? Or it is used for the recovery of an injury while not playing sports |
Answer: | I used it after recovery when my ankle still felt weak. I don't know if it is made for sports, but very easy to wear walking. I would give it a try if your ankle needs support. |

User questions & answers
Question: | with the short model will my toes stick out past the boot |
Answer: | Short refers to how far it goes up your leg, not the length of the foot bed. So no, your toes should be entirely enclosed by the boot, as long as you order the correct size. My toes were very well protected after surgery. |
Question: | How does it inflate |
Answer: | There is a pump built into the side of the boot on the elite model. You can inflate, deflate and control pressure in the various chambers without any special tools or devices. I would definitely get the elite because you have to adjust the air a lot during the day and having to carry a separate tool would be a nightmare.Just my two cents... |
Question: | What are the shoe sizes for the various boot sizes |
Answer: | I wear a 9 to 9 1/2 shoe I am 5’ 8” at 185 what size boot |
Question: | i would need a medium for a size 9 to 9.5 o.k. women's, correct |
Answer: | I'm a women's 8.5 to 9 and have a medium. There's about an inch from my big toe to the end of the boot. So yes, Medium should work for you. Don't forget to get a few of the sock liners, makes a huge difference to the comfort around the shin bone (and they are much easier to get on and off - compared to regular socks). |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this latex /elasric free |
Answer: | I have a severe latex allergy. These socks did not affect me negatively in any way. |
Question: | Are these machine washable |
Answer: | Yes but dont buy one-such a rip off! You can buy a pair of knee high socks and save a lot of money. |
Question: | Is it hard to stretch so I can get it around toes |
Answer: | No, it will go over or around your toes no problem & because it's open ended, you can even leave your toes exposed if you want. |
Question: | My husband has a very large calf. Will these fit comfortably or will they be too tight? Do they stretch a lot |
Answer: | The largest part of my calf measures 15" around and these socks were very stretchy and comfy on me. Sometimes they stretched out so much that they slid down to my ankles if I didn't have my boot on over them. I imagine they would stretch at least another 3 to 4 inches comfortably. Just guessing. You could always return them. I haven't found anywhere else to buy them, except online. You know they are not compression socks, right? Just a comfy sock to wear inside a surgical boot. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with the foam replacement that sits on top of the boot sleeve |
Answer: | Good question, but I don’t want to give medical advice. A quick call to your doctor is highly recommended. What I can say, a boot is designed to stabilize the foot or ankle after a fracture or bad sprain. The PTTD brace will not provide the stabilization that your boot offers. Additionally, there is an air bladder in the brace that inflates slightly with walking pressure, helping your arch and relieving PTTD syndrome. |
Question: | Does the fp replacement liner work for the airselect model? amazon does not seem to sell a replacement liner specifically for the airselect model |
Answer: | According to our medic onsite the instrument works very well. |
Question: | Do you have air bag replacements for the fp walker foam |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | I need a replacement for my below the knee boot for my right leg. It is old so I don't know the model. Cn you give me dimensions for the liner |
Answer: | Don't know. Beware of the fittings or size . |
Product description
The Aircast FP (Foam Pneumatic) Walker Brace / Walking Boot is a removable cast that will not limit mobility required for day-to-day activities while recovering from injury. It's specifically designed to provide protection and pneumatic support for stable fractures of the foot and ankle, severe ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, chronic conditions including plantar fasciitis, metatarsal fractures, forefoot and midfoot injuries, bunionectomies and post-operative use. The low rocker sole promotes a natural ambulation (gait) for improved mobility while the generous foot base has ample room for dressings without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight, semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior air cell and 2 adjustable Duplex air cells located at the malleoli that can be individually inflated for a total contact fit and secure support. It provides the protection and stability necessary for a healthy recovery, and includes a hand bulb air pump which allows you to customize the level of support. Universal fit allows the Aircast FP Walker Brace / Walking Boot to be worn on either the left or right leg.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with a sock |
Answer: | No the heel is not covered. In the back two peices come together like panels, the foot slips through the hole so that it covers the entite front of the ankle. I think this is to get it on and off eaiser. But in the back its open with s tiny strap to keep the two sides together. The strap causes issues with it fitting in a shoe its low enough to where it hits the heel in the shoe, making it very difficult and in my take a trip hazard as the only way to wear it is to loosen your laces to wear the shoe slides on and off. In the picture given it looks like the heel is covered because there is a wrap around strap to hold the two sides together further up as the sides go up your calfs pretty high. But thr straps do not cover the heel in the back. So the picture is false advertising, or they should include pictured. I love aircast boots, but they really made this horribly. It hurts my ankle, heel and calfs to wear. It is un-useable. I have pictures if you need them. Hope this helps. Ty |
Question: | Is the product warranted. I've had it a little over a week and one of the straps have separated from the boot |
