Please note though that when your blood perfusion level is low or when your hands are cold, the device may need more time to optimize and register an accurate reading. In this instance, we suggest that you warm your hands and fingers before taking the measurements. You can do this simply by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function. Answer:	Yes I have and the heart rate is very close. I have several of these and COPD and this ones heart rate at least the one that I have is very good. On the cell phone app which is called Oximeter the oxygen sensor is way off like 5 points high which is critical and I was told that the cell phone oximeter was more designed for sports than for actual health problems! as an example a five point spread could cause major organ damage do to low oxygen!

Question:	Can it be used while sleeping and how long is the data stored
Answer:	Hello - I use this in measuring oxygen and pulse rate while taking vital signs on individual patients. I do not think this would be the appropriate tool for using on one individual all night. I see no evidence there is any ability to do storage of data within the device or an app to which the data could be sent. Since I am not trying to pull data other than one individual at a time I have not looked for an app or storage. Hope this information is helpful. Best of luck.

A: The battery placement for this Oximeter is different from others. Even though the two battery springs are on the same side, the two batteries are still required to be placed in opposite directions. The diagram shows the correct batteries alignment. Please bear in mind that the finger pulse oximeter is not meant to be worn continuously for overnight monitoring. The device may fall off while you are sleeping. How does the plethysmograph work?

Each wave (see image) corresponds to a heart beat and the wave amplitude corresponds to the amount of blood detected. If the wave amplitude is low, this means that your blood perfusion is too low for a reliable read. You should retake your measurement and make sure that your finger is positioned right under the LED lights.
