Answer:	Nope, that doesn't happen. Scale will reflect even small tenth of a point changes. (What I like about it is that it is extremely precise and does not alter reading if you get on and off within a few seconds. My old digital scale gave me 2-3 different readings within a minute of me getting on the scale or if I moved the scale to a different location in the room.) This is the best scale I ever owned.

Answer:	Under the scale is a small flip-up black square. Push the clip toward the square and it should flip up. The replacement batteries are two CR2032. Replace batteries exactly and push square top back down. (Also discovered the scale seemed to be out of batteries when it really wasn't.)Sorry...forgot. The square lid pops up - not flip up. Push batteries into and under tiny holders. Fit square lid "teeth" back into slots and push down.

Answer:	Not lighted, but does have a large display when it works. Mine quit working within a year. Company said I could mail it back for repair. Because of the odd size, it required a larger box...the regular postage would have cost 16.00 to mail back at my expense. I ended up purchasing a Taylor scales for 25.00 which I like better. The Escali sounds good, but is overpriced. Taylor scales have been in existence for a long long time.
