Answer:	No, it's sold for either your right or left foot. I was having issues with plantar phascitis in my left foot. This boot was the best thing I found to help with my heel pain. I highly recommend it.

Answer:	It takes time for your foot, legs, muscles to adjust to the passive stretching. When I first started wearing a splint it took a couple weeks to build up the tolerance to more than an hour. After a couple of weeks I was able to sleep through the night. Before switching to this splint my foot was warm and would cause me to wake up and I would remove the splint. I do not have that problem now and can sleep comfortably through the night with it on.

Wedge Use & Adjustment

When you receive your plantar fasciitis night splint you will find a foam wedge attached to toe area of the night splint’s lightweight shell. The wedge can be adjusted or removed to increase or decrease the stretch of the calf and plantar fascia (dorsi-flexion).

Where Does the Wedge Go?

Step 1 Lift up the fabric pad at the toe area of the boot.

Step 2 Slide the wedge underneath and affix to the Velcro on the wedge to the Velcro on the bottom of the boot.

Dorsi-Flexion Adjustment

​Un-attach the dorsi-flexion straps and simultaneously pull to adjust the dorsi-flexion to the desired level. If pain is experienced with the night splint in the resting position, the wedge can be removed from under the toe for less dorsi-flexion.

Preparation & Application Instructions

Preparation

1. Begin by un-attaching the 3 straps across the front of the night splint using the quick-snaps provided. Do not loosen the dorsi-flexion straps at this time.



Application

1. Place your foot into the night splint, making sure the heel fits snug against the heel of the splint.

2. Attach the bottom strap and adjust until snug. The straps should be fed under the dorsi-flexion straps.

3. Continue by attaching the remaining 2 straps as described above. Adjust straps for tightness as needed.

Answer:	There is a band that sits directly above the ankle. If you have fat ankles with those calves that band can be excruciatingly tight. I have to return mine because of that band. I like you am a little wary to order larger, that band may still be too tight regardless of the foot size.

• Ironically, this is a sign that the product is doing its job. It takes a couple of days for someone who wears a plantar fasciitis night splint to get used to the stretch provided by the splint.
• Initially the stretch can be uncomfortable and can sometimes cause numbness, but once a customer wears it for a couple of nights they are then able to tolerate the stretch and the numbness goes away.

Common Causes of Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch. Repeated strain can cause tiny tears in the ligament which can lead to pain and swelling. This is more likely to happen if:

• Your feet roll inward too much when you walk (excessive pronation ).
• You have high arches or flat feet.
• You walk, stand, or run for long periods of time, especially on hard surfaces.
• You are overweight.
• You wear shoes that don't fit well or are worn out.
• You have tight achilles tendons or calf muscles.

About Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel bone to your toes. It supports the arch of your foot. If you strain your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated (inflamed). Then your heel or the bottom of your foot hurts when you stand or walk.

Plantar fasciitis is common in middle-aged people. It also occurs in younger people who are on their feet a lot, like athletes or soldiers. It can happen in one foot or both feet.

So how can the splint help my plantar fasciitis​?

When wearing the splint, the foot is held in a certain position, called “dorsiflexion“. This means that the fascia is stretched, not allowing it to contract and become tighter overnight.

Answer:	I an a 10 1/2 wide in mens and had a very difficult time fastening it around my foot. It barely fit & the metal, even when adjusted correctly, started to put too much pressure on the top of my foot below my ankle.

How to use？

1. To adjust the curvature, you need to stretch the plantar fascia. It is recommended to start at 90 degrees.

2. Place the splint on the instep so that it fits over the top of the foot, wraps the ankle and secures it with a Velcro.

3. Wrap the forefoot and fix it with a Velcro.

4. Pull the elastic band on the splint, pass the plastic buckle, and then stick the front foot with the velcro.

5. Attach the middle Velcro of the excess elastic strap to the bottom of the splint and pull the ends of the strap to the ankle.

6. Secure the ends of the ankle with a Velcro fastener.

Question:	Does the heel of your foot touch the base of the boot when you use two wedges? Mine doesn't. Is it supposed to
Answer:	I haven't been able to wear it with the wedges due to foot cramps. But using it without them has helped. I think the trick is keeping the foot in dorsiflexion is what's helped me rather than over-flexing to stretch the Achilles so much. Might want to try it with small wedge of mine at all. Hope that helps you.
Question:	Is the back of my foot not supposed to reach the bottom on the splint, or were these sized horribly large
Answer:	I only use one of the wedges and when I'm putting the boot on I tip the toe up so the heel of the boot is resting on the floor and make sure my heel inside the boot goes clear to the back, hitting the back inside. Then I fasten the middle strap tightly so it minimizes movement inside the boot. I now have to use rubber bands on the lower two straps to keep them from popping open during the night and secure a snug fit inside so my foot isn't moving a lot inside the boot. Works great and is helping my foot!
