12 best aircast wrist braces
Aircast wrist braces are medical devices designed to provide support and stability to the wrist, typically used in the treatment of various wrist injuries and conditions. These braces are often recommended by healthcare professionals to help immobilize the wrist, reduce pain, and promote the healing process. Here are some key features and benefits of Aircast wrist braces:
Aircell Technology: Aircast wrist braces are known for their patented Aircell technology. Aircells are air-filled cushions strategically placed within the brace to provide compression and support to the injured area. This technology helps reduce swelling and enhances comfort.
Customizable Fit: Many Aircast wrist braces are adjustable and come with straps or Velcro closures, allowing users to customize the fit to their specific needs. This ensures a snug and comfortable fit for individuals of various sizes.
Immobilization: These braces are designed to immobilize the wrist joint, limiting its range of motion. Immobilization can be crucial in the healing process of wrist injuries such as sprains, fractures, and post-surgical recovery.
Pain Relief: Aircast wrist braces are often prescribed to help alleviate wrist pain associated with conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, or arthritis. By stabilizing the wrist, they can reduce strain on the affected area.
Breathable Materials: Many Aircast wrist braces are made from breathable materials, which can help prevent excessive sweating and discomfort during extended wear.
Low Profile: Some Aircast wrist braces have a low-profile design, making them less bulky and more discreet. This feature can be especially appealing to those who want to wear the brace under clothing.
Left and Right Options: Aircast typically offers both left and right wrist brace options to accommodate injuries or conditions specific to one wrist.
It's important to note that Aircast offers various wrist brace models, each designed for specific conditions and levels of support. Therefore, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most suitable Aircast wrist brace for your particular needs. Additionally, proper usage and care instructions should be followed to ensure the brace is effective and safe.

User questions & answers
Question: | I bought the medium but my wrist is 6.5". I have to tighten it to much is that how its supposed to be |
Answer: | My thoughts are as long as it feels supported |
Question: | is this washable |
Answer: | Crap. I've been wearing this for almost a year. Feels like things are finally starting to get better! Tendon injuries just take FOREVER to heal! No appliance will make that happen faster than another one. Unless you need the thumb spica.... I've never thrown it in the washing machine, but I think it'd be okay if you didn't use any bleach. I usually wash mine by hand and let it dry someplace warm. That being said, I really liked it and thought it was better made than most. The thumb spica really works well to hold everything in place. |
Question: | Is this product latex free |
Answer: | I'm not 100% sure, but can't imagine what on it would contain latex. There is a piece stretchy material that fits across the opening. (the green piece in the illustration), but it's likely that the fabric is lycra. |
Question: | I sprained my lest wrist and it now measures 8 in. When the swelling goes down can I adjust this brace if needed |
Answer: | Yes its adjustable |

User questions & answers
Question: | Why is it described as made in the usa but the box it arrived in shows it is made in mexico |
Answer: | Thank you for bringing this to our attention, that would be a misprint. We are working to correct our listing however there may continue to be other sellers still using this listing. |
Question: | Can you purchase just the air cell? Mine just deflated while exercising |
Answer: | I can't answer the question. Try directly with Amazon |
Question: | Is it too think and bulky to wear under clothes |
Answer: | That depends on the clothes that you choose to wear. It is too bulky to wear under clothes with tighter fitting sleeves like a long sleeve tee shirt. I wear my brace on top of a long sleeve tee shirt when playing tennis. But it would work under something with roomy sleeves like a jacket. |
Question: | For gulfers elbow, does the air cell go on the inside or outside of arm |
Answer: | outside, right below the elbow |

User questions & answers
Question: | What size tubing would fit on the tip of this |
Answer: | unsure - but slightly small - like the size of the ink insert in a pen maybe? I've only used mine for a walking boot to fill and release the air of the inserts. Sorry. |
Question: | Would this work on a small travel pillow |
Answer: | Not even close ;0). Unless you're a Barbie doll. This is a small hand held air pump for a walking cast. it has 2 ends with sharp-ish points that are inserted into the aircast. |
Question: | where can I find a replacement air cell for boot |
Answer: | I only got the pump. Then one of the bladders sprung a leak and I couldn't find a replacement. I ended up getting a new boot. This turned out to be a really good thing as the new boot was way more comfortable. And the pump was built right into the boot. |
Question: | I have th aircast pttd brace. will this work to inflate the air cell? i can’t find mine |
Answer: | yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | with the short model will my toes stick out past the boot |
Answer: | Short refers to how far it goes up your leg, not the length of the foot bed. So no, your toes should be entirely enclosed by the boot, as long as you order the correct size. My toes were very well protected after surgery. |
Question: | How does it inflate |
Answer: | There is a pump built into the side of the boot on the elite model. You can inflate, deflate and control pressure in the various chambers without any special tools or devices. I would definitely get the elite because you have to adjust the air a lot during the day and having to carry a separate tool would be a nightmare.Just my two cents... |
Question: | What are the shoe sizes for the various boot sizes |
Answer: | I wear a 9 to 9 1/2 shoe I am 5’ 8” at 185 what size boot |
Question: | i would need a medium for a size 9 to 9.5 o.k. women's, correct |
Answer: | I'm a women's 8.5 to 9 and have a medium. There's about an inch from my big toe to the end of the boot. So yes, Medium should work for you. Don't forget to get a few of the sock liners, makes a huge difference to the comfort around the shin bone (and they are much easier to get on and off - compared to regular socks). |

Answer: | Dunno about the brand or what Day was doing with their brace but I got mine in May 2020 and while I don't wear it every single day anymore it's still holding up. User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work well for peroneal tendon tear |
Answer: | i'm wearing it post-surgery on a peroneal tendon tear as prescribed by my surgeon |
Question: | I am a woman size 7, should i order a xs, or a small |
Answer: | I wear a size 8 and got a small. fits perfect. and it's exactly like the one my orthopeadic doc gave me. I think it really depends on your ankle. I would have never thought my ankle was "small" but it's perfect for me. you might actually be good if you get an XS. |
Question: | Can you return item if sizing it s wrong |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Is the heel covered |
Answer: | No the heel is not covered. In the back two peices come together like panels, the foot slips through the hole so that it covers the entite front of the ankle. I think this is to get it on and off eaiser. But in the back its open with s tiny strap to keep the two sides together. The strap causes issues with it fitting in a shoe its low enough to where it hits the heel in the shoe, making it very difficult and in my take a trip hazard as the only way to wear it is to loosen your laces to wear the shoe slides on and off. In the picture given it looks like the heel is covered because there is a wrap around strap to hold the two sides together further up as the sides go up your calfs pretty high. But thr straps do not cover the heel in the back. So the picture is false advertising, or they should include pictured. I love aircast boots, but they really made this horribly. It hurts my ankle, heel and calfs to wear. It is un-useable. I have pictures if you need them. Hope this helps. Ty |

Question: | My right wrist is 6 1/2. Do I go for the xs or sm? For the de quervain's tenosynovitis |
Answer: | Melody, thanks for your question on the BraceAbility Thumb & Wrist Tendonitis Splint. You should be able to wear either size, but if your hand is slender, then you may want the XS, but if your hand is larger, then I would go with the size small. The reasoning is the size small may be too large for your thumb if your hand is on the smaller side. I hope this helps. If you still have questions, please contact us at 866-712-7808 or via email through the Amazon Dashboard. Thank you for your interest in our products. Janet - BraceAbility Customer Care Team |
Question: | My right wrist is 6 1/2. Do I go for the xs or sm? For the de quervain's tenosynovitis |
Answer: | Can mine is 6 3/4 and I ordered a small, should have gone with and a xs |
Question: | you indicate that the aluminum stays are removable. How does one remove them |
Answer: | Mason, thanks for your question and there is a casing that the stay is in and the fabric end is not sewn together so you should be able to pull out the stay with your fingers or else you could use a tweezer or needle nosed pliers if your fingers aren't able to grip the end of the stay. I hope this makes sense. If not, please contact us. Thank you for your interest in our products. BraceAbility Customer Care Team |

Product description
The Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace treats plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and heel pain by applying pulsating compression with every step, which helps reduce swelling and enhance circulation. The medial/lateral stabilizers offer enhanced proprioception and stability. It's designed with 2 interconnected air cells, located under the foot arch and in back of the Achilles tendon. When you take a step, the first air chamber (under the arch) begins to collapse, thus reducing the stress to the plantar fascia under the arch. Air is then forced into the chamber surrounding the Achilles tendon, which in turn inflates. The inflated Achilles chamber applies compression to the Achilles tendon to shorten the lever arm, therefore reducing strain on the tendon. It's made of a latex-free, compression spandex with air cells incased in waterproof nylon. These air cells have been tested with 1,000 lbs. of pressure, which enables them to withstand the force from running, jumping and landing, and other high impact activities. The Aircast AirHeel Support Brace is already inflated, so no pump is needed. It's constructed of lightweight, breathable materials so it's extremely comfortable to wear. Simply slip the support brace on like a sock, and adjust the Velcro strap for a custom fit. Universal fit allows the Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace to be worn on either the left or right foot.

Answer: | It is sized to fit a range of shoe sizes. My son wears a size 12 and it was only slightly long for his foot. If you are 11 1/2 it should be fine. your toes will not be hanging over the edge. I wear women's size 10 and it was perfect for me as well. |
Product description
The Aircast SP (Short Pneumatic) Walker Brace / Walking Boot is a removable cast that will not limit mobility required for day-to-day activities while recovering from injury. It's specifically designed to provide protection and pneumatic support for stable fractures of the foot and ankle, severe ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, chronic conditions including plantar fasciitis, metatarsal fractures, forefoot and midfoot injuries, bunionectomies and post-operative use. The low rocker sole promotes a natural ambulation (gait) for improved mobility while the generous foot base has ample room for dressings without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight, semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior air cell and 2 adjustable Duplex air cells located at the malleoli that can be individually inflated for a total contact fit and secure support. It provides the protection and stability necessary for a healthy recovery, and includes a hand bulb air pump which allows you to customize the level of support. Universal fit allows the Aircast SP Walker Brace / Walking Boot to be worn on either the left or right leg. If you measure on the high-end of the size chart, we recommend selecting one size larger to ensure proper fit, comfort and optimum inflation.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the pump |
Answer: | Pump is included. |
Question: | I wear boots that are roughly 18-20 inch calf circumference. Will this fit my calf/lower calf area |
Answer: | This is the Short Pneumatic boot. I would not expect it to rise high enough to cover your calf. You'll need to specify a shoe size or aircast size if you want someone to measure the circumference for you, I've got a 21" calf circumference and it is a non-issue with the Large. These are pretty flexible on sizing, the limiting factor for you will be the width at the top of the boot (which is below the calf for me at 6'0"). For the Large: The top of the boot is 9" from the bottom of your heel (measuring the inside of the boot). The side-to-side diameter is 5" at the top, this is relatively inflexible (you can make it smaller with the strap, but not flex it bigger. Where the boot hits my leg is 13" in circumference, I've got a bit of room on the sides and plenty of room front to back (before tightening down the velcro). |
Question: | Can you drive with this Aircast SP Walking Brace on your right foot |
Answer: | It was very tricky. I ended up driving with my left foot most of the time because the width of the aircast would catch the brake while I was accelerating. |
Question: | i wear a womens 8 would i need a small or a large |
Answer: | I got the small and wear a 7 1/2 shoe. My toe hangs off the front. I have worn 7 1/2 shoes for many years, so I say go with a medium if you are an 8 or 8 1/2. Also, I do not have large calves, but the inside part barely covers my calf. If you have large calves, do not order this. Also, it has absolutely no arch support!! |
