From light to dark, depending on how much alcohol is allowed to be in contact with the tip of the marker. You will not need three, four or five varying colors, light to dark shades. Answer:	I am right-handed, but I would guess that, because a left hand must move across what has just written as the writer goes from the left to the right (as we all do) the hand is less likely to smear the most recent letters. These are the finest pens I have used. The ink flow is particularly smooth and even. As a former professional artist, I am quite picky about my pens.
