When I first started using Charlie's, clothes came out rough. A couple more washings, though, and they were soft and not the least bit irritating. I suspect crud from gooey previous detergents finally got washed out.

Question:	Instructions say to first wash load of rags AND to use hard water additive which I didn't order. What happens if I wash in hard water w/o additive
Answer:	You won't need the water softener if you have soft water. The instructions are there because Charlie's Soap will wash the machine out, and it will do it with whatever load you start with. The last thing you want is for junk to fall off the drum and land on your new top from the Gap...or whatever store is hip today. ;)

Answer:	For my cloth diapers, I wash them in a load of homemade powder detergent (1 cup borax, 1 cup washing soda, 1 bar of ivory soap - powdered together in a food processor). Then, I wash them again with a scoop of charlies soap & 1/4 cup white vinegar in the liquid fabric softener area. it works great, and I've experimented with A LOT of different detergents & combinations!

Answer:	Don't know for sure on comp socks. But it works great. We use it for everything now. Started buying it for cloth diapers because it won't clog the fabric or leave any residue.

Answer:	Amy, Did you try it for scent residues (or find another product that does work)? I really need to find something that can remove fabric softener or laundry detergent scent! Those products are getting so strong that not only is it a problem with used stuff, but using a shared machine, other people's chemicals transfer onto your laundry, and even more ridiculous, I've had clothes scented on the butt/back a few times from sitting where a laundry-scent user had sat before (had a very bad issue on a plane last fall- something scented soaked through my jacket, T-shirt, tank top and bra, and through my jeans & undies! Boggled my mind!). Very excited to hear that this product MIGHT be the answer. Currently my strategy is a couple dozen washes (paused to soak a few hours) with assorted stuff from borax to bath salt to soap nuts, & several days hanging in the sun. Hoping there's a shortcut.

Answer:	No this would not be good for treating yeast in diapers. RLR is good for helping get rid of mineral or soap build up on diapers; or just a good deep clean when used with detergent. A proper bleach soak would be the best way to take care of any yeast problems. Feel free to message us if you need any help with treating the diapers!
Question:	Does this work to get rid of dingy marks on sheets? I have pale blue sheets with body-shaped dingy spots! Ewww
Answer:	I don't use this for my regular laundry much, just cloth diapers. I use it to remove detergent and ammonia build up and it works like a dream. It does a great job on my white towels but was not able to get old dingy marks that get left behind the hand towels. Honestly, your best bet would be to fill a squirt bottle with half lemon juice half white vinegar 9% if you can get it, and spray the spots all over saturating them and set them in direct sunlight all day maybe even 2 days. Then was again with detergent and oxyclean. if you have hard water and you don't treat it, be sure to add calgon or just 1/4 C regular salt. That should get out the sweat stains. This works on pit stains in undershirts as well.

How to Use Our Laundry Powder

For a normal load, add 1 Tablespoon of Laundry Powder directly to the drum of your washer (yep, even if you have an HE machine with a detergent drawer!) It will fall through the holes in the drum — and that’s a good thing! This helps the water mix with the powder to provide a thorough wash. For heavily soiled, stinky loads, add up to 1 full additional scoop.

Helpful Tip: Don’t forget to use warm water for your loads. Cold water (under 70 degrees) may not dissolve the Laundry Powder completely.

Molly’s Suds began when founder and CEO, Monica, unexpectedly lost her daughter Molly, at birth. In the midst of her grief, she began investigating the potential causes for this loss, as she had 3 other children. Her research led her to the chemicals used in common household products — and especially those in laundry products. Mothers pass these chemicals to their babies via pregnancy and breast milk, which can lead to loss, health complications, or future issues.

The Tough Stuff - How to Get Out Stains

Stains on your clothing? Don’t just throw it in the washing machine — pretreat! First, flip the garment over and run it under cool water to push the stain back out of the clothing fibers. Next, make a paste of the Laundry Powder by adding a little water to a sprinkling of detergent. Brush this paste gently into the clothing fibers. Rinse and repeat if necessary.

Do not put a stained garment in a dryer, as it will set the stain and make it nearly impossible to remove.

Answer:	I have used on multiple Luluemon tights for a couple years now and I love it! No fading issues and they smell truly clean, no build up like other products.
Question:	For front loading/HE machines, do you put the detergent directly in the tub with the clothes, or in the dispenser as you would with liquid detergent
Answer:	Add the powder directly into your detergent dispenser. If you notice that it isn't dissolving entirely from the dispenser, you can add it directly into the drum or simply add a little bit of water to the detergent before putting it into the dispenser to ensure that it will get completely dissolved.
Question:	What is the difference between this and the cloth diaper formula? I cloth diaper and work out, and only want to buy one formula
