Since most companies make concentrated detergent, I would think the washing machines can adjust the amounts, or I would hope so. This is the very reason I didn’t research those types of machines, I use my judgement in deciding how much to use sometimes. Hope it works out as it’s a great idea.

Those old smells are the bacteria and oils left from repeated wearings that were also covered in chemicals to hide those odors. Roux Maison actually removes these bacteria and oils without any additional chemicals to cover the scent of clean laundry. We recommend at least 2 washes to remove all residue. For clothing like you described that has a lot of buildup, we also recommend the addition of about a cup of white vinegar in the compartment where you would add fabric softener, as well as an additional rinse cycle.
