9 best hand dryers hygienes
Hand dryers are commonly used in public restrooms and other facilities as an alternative to paper towels for drying hands. While they offer several advantages, such as reduced waste and cost savings, there are also concerns and considerations related to hand dryer hygiene:
Airborne Contaminants: Hand dryers use high-speed air to dry hands, which can potentially disperse airborne contaminants, including bacteria and viruses, into the surrounding environment. This has raised concerns about whether hand dryers contribute to the spread of germs in restrooms.
Proximity to Toilets: In some restroom designs, hand dryers are positioned in close proximity to toilets and urinals. This can lead to the dispersal of aerosolized droplets containing bacteria from flushing toilets, potentially contaminating hands as they are dried.
Maintenance: Proper maintenance of hand dryers is essential for hygiene. Dirty or poorly maintained dryers can become sources of contamination themselves. Regular cleaning and filter replacement are necessary to ensure the air blown by the dryer remains clean.
Hand Washing: Hand hygiene starts with proper hand washing. Users of hand dryers should thoroughly wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before using the dryer.Drying hands before they are clean can lead to the retention of contaminants.
Hand Dryer Type: Some hand dryers use high-velocity air jets, while others use heated air. High-velocity air dryers are believed to be more effective at removing moisture and potentially contaminants from hands.
Touchless Operation: Touchless hand dryers, which are activated by motion sensors, can reduce the risk of cross-contamination from touching buttons or switches.
Alternative Drying Methods: In response to hygiene concerns, some facilities provide both hand dryers and paper towels to give users a choice. Paper towels are considered a more hygienic option because they do not involve air blowing or potential cross-contamination.
Regulations and Guidelines: Regulatory agencies and organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) have issued guidelines for the installation and maintenance of hand dryers in public restrooms to ensure hygiene and safety.
Personal Hygiene Practices: Individual users can also contribute to hand dryer hygiene by using proper hand-washing techniques and being mindful of potential contamination sources in public restrooms.
In summary, while hand dryers offer convenience and environmental benefits, there are valid concerns about their potential to disperse airborne contaminants in restrooms. Proper maintenance and hygiene practices, as well as the choice of hand dryer type, can help mitigate these concerns and ensure that hand dryers are used effectively and safely in public facilities. Some establishments may choose to provide paper towels as an alternative drying method to address these hygiene concerns.

Curl Power
Curls are like snowflakes or fingerprints. No two are alike, making it difficult to generalize about curly hair. Your hair really will evolve once you know how to care for and style it. But first you have to identify your curl style . . .
You know you have corkscrew curls if you have:
Curls that contract as tightly as a French poodle’s if cut too short.
Lots of small spirals.
A high frizz factor.
Hair that appears thickly textured when you look at it all together but is actually baby-fine and delicate when you look at a single strand. (This is why your hair breaks so easily.)
Hair the soaks up as much conditioner as you feed it.
Tangles and snarls under the top layer of hair at the nape of the neck. (This is caused by the natural movement of the head throughout the day.)
A spring factor of 9 to 12 inches.
You know you have botticelli curls if you have:
Curls that vary in size and shape. Underneath you may have hermit curls that can shrink to half the length of those on the outside. (This is another reason not to cut your hair wet.)
Curls that tend to be looser, in the shape of soft S’s, combined with those that are tight.
Curls that have a ropier appearance.
Hair the seems to wilt if it gets too long. (This is because the weight of the top layer weighs the hair down.)
Curls that are looser during some seasons and tighter during others.
A spring factor of 5 to 8 inches.
You know you have corkicelli curls if you have:
Varying curl patterns throughout your hair’s overall landscape: for example, significantly tighter curls around the face and at the nape of the necks, while the rest of the hair is much looser, or vice versa. (Curls should never be cut when wet, because you would not recognize these distinct curl patterns on a wet, combed surface.)
Drier hair with a higher frizz factor if not hydrated properly.
Curly hair throughout all seasons.
Hair that appears longer or shorter depending on the weather and humidity.
A spring factor of 5 to 10 inches.
You know you have cherub curls if you have:
Had curly hair from birth.
Baby-fine curl spirals that resemble the hair of a young child whether you’re eight years old or eighty.
Curls that seem as delicate as gold leaf because they easily disperse with outside interferences such as wind, moving around while you sleep, or too much touching.
Curls that are weightless to the touch and have a translucency to them like a halo.
A variety of curl lengths on your head.
Curls that take a long time to grow and never seem to grow past a certain point. (Don’t worry, they will grow with the right care.)
Curls that have a shorter life span because they’re so fragile that they break easily.
A spring factor of 5 to 10 inches.
You know you have wavy curls if you have:
Hair that you’ve always believed was straight.
Had straight hair when you were very young and possibly wavy hair after puberty.
Hair that occasionally develops a natural wave after coming out of the shower at the beach.
A slight halo of frizz and frizz on the ends of the hair on humid days.
Hair that has a tendency to look unmaintained and flat on the crown.
Hair that can appear straight in the winter.
Hair that is dry on the ends.
A spring factor of 2 to 4 inches.
You know you have s’wavy curls if you have:
Hair that may appear straight in the winter with no effort. In fact, you have to work to get waves in your hair.
Low to no frizz factor.
A natural shine.
A slight bend at the ends of your hair, depending on the length.
Hair that looks better when it’s layered.
A spring factor of 1 to 2 inches.
You know you have fractal or zigzag curls if you have:
Curls that might be described as twizzles, mircro-spirals, or fractal corkscrews.
An almost steplike pattern to your hair. It may not look zigzag when you look at your hair as a whole, but it will when you take a closer look at individual curls.
Hair that is relentlessly dry.
Hair that’s hypersensitive to rough handling.
Curls that don’t change with the season.
A receding hairline from having your hair pulled back too tight, relaxed, or the weight of a weave. (All curly girls are prone to this, but fractal and zigzag curls are more so than others.)
A spring factor of 9 to 16 inches.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the hand dryer come with the electrical cord |
Answer: | Yes. The electrical cord could be removed to hardwire the unit. All the information is detailed in the product manual. |
Question: | Your ad says it's ok for 110-220v. How come the label on the bottom says voltage:110-120v |
Answer: | I believe it is an error. Alpine sells 110 and 220 volt units but they are two separate units. If you are looking for a 220V unit my suggestion is that you should reach out to the seller and ask them to replace it for a 220V unit. I use the hemlock dryer is my facility and i am very happy with the performance so i suggest that it is worth the hassle of replacing it. |

Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, other people and our own bodies. Bacteria can spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load. Some these bacteria can survive a wash cycle and can cause potential infection risk with pathogenic bacteria. When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want your detergent to eliminate bacteria that can cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. But detergents alone don't actually kill all bacteria. Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, an additive specially designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria left behind. Simply add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to your rinse cycle. It does not contain any bleach and even works in cold water so is safe to use on most fabrics including whites, colors and darks.
- Kills 99.9% of bacteria & odors, simply add to your rinse cycle
- Contains 0% bleach, works even in cold water
- Gentle on most fabrics including whites & colors
- Works in all standard and HE machines
- Suitable for use on baby clothes, gym clothes, undergarments, towels, bedding, delicates
User questions & answers
Question: | Is there any evidence that this will kill yeast, such as candida |
Answer: | No that’s fungal and this stuff only kills 99.9% of bacteria like Staphylococcus Aureus & Klebsiella pneumoniae. So to the short answer is no. |
Question: | It sounds like some stop the rinse cycle for 15 min., and others don't. Can manufacturer clarify please |
Answer: | I'm not the manufacturer but if the product is in contact with what you're sanitizing for 10 minutes it's supposed to kill 99% of viruses and bacterias according to manufacturer. I just put it in the wash cyle which runs 15 minutes. I've worked housekeeping in a nursing home and that's what we do to clean also |
Question: | How can i use this product on a coin operated/he/lid locking top load machine with no fabric softener compartment. Any suggestions |
Answer: | Lysol Laundry Sanitizer would go into the bleach compartment in your coin-operated washing machine, not the fabric softener compartment. I hope this helps to answer your question. |
Question: | In the description it says to "leave it in the rinse cycle for 16 minutes." Is anyone doing this |
Answer: | Yes, but each machine is different. When I start my laundry, I make sure to select Deep Rinse in my GE (model GTW220ACK2WW) washer. If I am doing a regular large or super load, from the time I start the process, it takes about 24 minutes for my washer to go from the Wash cycle to Rinse. When it goes into Rinse, it unlocks the lid and I add this laundry sanitizer. BUT, then I set a timer on google for 12 minutes. When the timer beeps, I close the lid and the machine continues to rinse and it gets about 16 minutes. The reason I use the timer is because if I forget about it while the lid is opened, after 15-20 minutes (I cannot remember exactly how long but it's why I chose 12 minutes), the stupid machine will drain itself and I have to do a wash cycle again because I cannot do rinse alone. Anyway, hope this helps. |

Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer
When it comes to certain laundry loads such as children's clothes or sportswear, you want your detergent to eliminate bacteria that can cause illnesses and create lingering bad smells. But detergents alone don't actually kill all bacteria. Introducing Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, a bleach-free additive specially designed to kill 99.9%* of bacteria left behind while remaining gentle on most fabrics.

When are Bacteria Encountered?
Our clothes are in constant contact with bacteria throughout our day-to-day activities, for example through contact with contaminated surfaces, people and our own bodies. Bacteria can also spread from one fabric to another in the laundry basket, from the washing-machine drum to the next load, and even from our hands when handling wet clothes which have just been washed.
How Do Bacteria Cause Odors?
Sweat itself does not have an odor, but when we sweat the bacteria living on our skin break down the sweat molecules causing unpleasant smells. We can mask these odors with fabric conditioners, but when the fragrancing technology of such products wears off, the bacteria can still remain and continue to produce bacterial malodors. To combat these lingering smells, odors must be eliminated at the source by killing the odor-causing bacteria.
Is Washing Alone Not Enough?
Some bacteria from food, the body or other sources can survive a wash cycle. As well as when you wash clothes like delicates at lower temperatures, bacteria & other germs can survive and transfer between garments in wash. Potential infection risk with pathogenic bacteria include athlete’s foot, fungal nail. You can continue washing at low temperatures and still be assured that 99.9%* of bacteria are eliminated by simply adding Lysol Laundry Sanitizer.
Step 1: Dosing
For standard machines: Fill 2 capfuls to line 1 of the dosing cup.
For HE machines: Fill 2 capfuls to line 2 of the dosing cup.
Step 2: Pour into Machine
Add two capfuls to the fabric softener compartment at the start of laundry cycle.
If machine does not have a fabric softener dispenser, wait until rinse cycle and add directly to drum of machine.
Step 3: Laundry is Sanitized in Rinse Cycle
Leave in rinse cycle for 16 minutes.
Clothes come out sanitized killing 99.9%* of bacteria.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these have a cotton lined crotch |
Answer: | The crotch lining seems to be of the same material as the rest of the panty: 95% cotton and 5% elastin. |
Question: | Do they show panty lines |
Answer: | I never get lines with these. If I went down a size, maybe. I’m a larger lady (47 inch hips), XXL fits perfectly with no panty lines. Love em! |
Question: | Did these shrink in the wash |
Answer: | No. I've bought 20 pairs in 3 sizes over 18 months (losing weight) and I wash the light ones on hot with the light colors and the black ones with the jeans. I always tumble dry on hot. I have not had any shrinkage at all. (Nor unraveling, since I see others mentioning that.) |
Question: | Could men wear this |
Answer: | I am a man and have been wearing these every day for almost a year. They are much more comfortable than tighty whities and softer. They look unisex, so why not wear them? Nobody is ever going to figure out you are wearing panties. The secret is out now that womens' underwear is softer and more stretchy than mens'. They fit just fine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this kill mold |
Answer: | I am not certain but I rather suspect that it would not kill mold. It contains no bleach (hypochlorite) that is a mold killer. |
Question: | what are the ingredients |
Answer: | If you go to product page on Amazon.com, you can scroll over the front image. Ingredients are listed on the lower left side under scent |
Question: | If you're supposed to put it in the fabric softener compartement, do toy mix it with fabric softener or just not use fabric softener |
Answer: | I was surprised to see NO instructions on the bottle. I just add a little to the regular detergent to sanitize in the wash cycle, not rinse cycle. There are other sanitizers that say to put in rinse cycle in order to leave something in the fabric to prevent germs/bacteria, etc. from contaminating fabric. I don't want anything left in my clothes/towels/sheets that might irritate skin...I just want to know that everything is sanitized. Use bleach on whites > it sanitizes, then gets rinsed out. Use this on dark colors > it sanitizes, then gets rinsed out. |
Question: | How much product do you use per load |
Answer: | Sandy, On my 41 fl. oz. bottle, the instructions are inside the rear label, between the two layers. Separating the layers is a PITA, but once you do, it'll tell you to use TWO capfuls to line one for top-loading washers or two capfuls to line two for front-loading washers. Note that the "lines" are the tops of the vertical bars inside the cap. Line one is indicated by three vertical bars that end near the rim. Line two is indicated by THREE vertical bars that end well below the rim. Two fills to line 1 (higher line) is about 2/3 cup (5.33 fl oz). Two fills to line 2 (lower line) is about 3.5 fl oz. It says to put it in the rinse cycle and that the rinse cycle should be at least 16 minutes. Be careful putting the second capful into your fabric softener dispenser, because the dispenser may not hold enough (you can try removing the dispenser tray and dumping out excess water before putting any products into it for the load, if you have that style of dispenser). Hope this helps you. Alan. |
