User questions & answers

Question: is the cleaning pad machine washable
Answer: Two ends can be water inlet. So do not need to tell the water flow.
Question: How sturdy is the handle ? Is it for tall person, i am 1.85m. Is it durable enough for daily cleaning
Answer: ball valve is stainless steel. Fitting is made of brass.
Question: Where can I find replacement pads for the Bona premium microfiber mop
Answer: The valve comes assembled as shown.
Question: The mop is nice but I find the mop head way too floppy when I try to put some muscle in the mopping. It ends up flopping over. Is that normal
Answer: Handle is stainless steel. QC connectors are stainless steel. But the main body of the valve is carbon steel (not stainless steel) so the fluid path is not fully resistant to corrosion. The ball aperture is larger than 23/64-in, nearly 3/8-in, so less restrictive than the ID of the Male QC which is smaller than 5/16-in.

User questions & answers

Question: I don't know if I am using this mop correctly
Answer: I use the Bona Hardwood mop motion to apply. Just spray and mop. You don't need to use pressure. I mop the floors every other week so there is not much dirt build up. Don't use like you would do with water. Spray once then mop, spray again then mop.
Question: What is the difference between this and the professional version
Answer: According to the Bona website: The Professional Series cleaners were originally created for the janitorial community and have a stronger degreaser in them than our regular cleaners. However, the Professional Series is safe and easy to use in homes as well. Both our regular consumer cleaners and our Professional Series cleaners are pH balanced and leave no dulling or sticky residue. They are also GREENGUARD GOLD Certified for indoor air quality.
Question: What is a good mop to use with this cleaner to avoid streaks
Answer: I've been using a Turbo Mop for a while and haven't had any issues with streaking. It could also have to do with the amount of cleaner you're using, sometimes less is more.
Question: does it work on laminate floors
Answer: Bona has a different cleaner that is for laminate floors. I think I would get that instead.

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of preparation is required
Answer: I have not noticed an oily residue at all - this is why I like Bona products. Water based, very clean. This was my first time using the furniture cleaner (used the floor cleaner for years) and I like it a lot.
Question: does the spray mop include an initial supply of the cleaner
Answer: I don't see why not, it's for wood furniture.
Question: I used this product and it ruined my new engineered hardwood, how can i remove it safely without damaging my floors? Help! Thanks
Answer: I don't know, I stopped using Every Man Jack products when I had an issue with deodorant and their customer service department didn't even answer my inquiry. Buy an established brand like Neutrogena or Dove or Nivia. They will at least stand behind what they sell.
Question: Bona high shine polish
Answer: Sorry, I don't know. I stopped using Every Man Jack products when I reported that their deodorant gave me an itchy underarm rash and they failed to respond to my email. There are so many good products with good customer service. Why support these guys. I switched to the Dove Men's face scrub and like it a lot better.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used with engineered wood floors? I was told it has to be polyurethane cleaner due to the pre finish
Answer: The Bona Premium Spray Mop includes the Bona Hardwood Refillable Cartridge and the Microfiber Cleaning Pad . Our new Bona Premium Spray Mop for Hardwood Floors is a premium spray mop with a sturdy handle and grip. Our Premium Spray Mop features a larger more effective base plate with flexible corners to prevent damage to baseboards and furniture. (Bona Polish CANNOT be applied through a Spray Mop or Spray bottle.) Best regards, Bona Customer Care Center
Question: Can the pro series be used on bamboo flooring
Answer: YES!!!! I just spent an entire day stripping it off my floor successfully! Simply sprayed Windex (the one WTIH Ammonia), used a non-scratch scouring sponge to scrub the floor, and a wet towel to wash it away. Took all day but I have a lot of hardwood. It was actually pretty easy and my floors are back!!!!
Question: Can bona hardwood floor cleaner work to clean and restore wood kitchen cabinets as well
Answer: I used Bona hardwood cleaner, Bona applicator/mop w/ spray including their microfiber pads, and LOW-gloss polish on 3 floors of a townhouse with teak parguet finished with oil and wax. Bona instructions say not for natural finish however I was desperate... floor was dirty and stained with scratches from moving furniture. The mop/applicator with spray is great and makes cleaning and waxing easy. Hardest part was masking the top of base to keep the walls clean. While the parquet was new in 1975, the house is old and floors are not perfectly flat - so a high-gloss wax finish would show every imperfection. I found the low gloss sheen perfect and exactly what I wanted. How did the floors turn out?? Twice as good as I had hoped. The Bona cleaner and wax system resurrected the finish amazingly well and I am totally satisfied... and I am an architect. Since then I had hoped to have a similar result on an old oak floor with practically no finish left, a lot of bare wood - it may have had a natural finish that had no maintenance - unfortunately Bona did nothing - I had to rent a floor sander and applied a light stain and polyurethane with the Bona mop/applicator with an excellent result. I have nothing but praise for Bona, and I have to confess that I did not watch the DVD that came with the product... maybe next job...
Question: Don't know which to purchase..."PRO" or Standard Bona cleaner
Answer: Works on any finished wood. Dries hard with no residue.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this product be safely applied to a wooden bowl that will be eaten out of? Once the bowl is polished and dry, will it be safe to eat out of
Answer: Mine arrived in the summer in a similar "frozen" form. I didn't heat it in any way; but, yes, a serious "man"-shaking is required to get it into a more integrated, still-thick, but pour- or squeeze-able form. Its state is a good indicator that the product is in fact wax and oil, and not water-based.
Question: Will this get rid of beverage rings on an oak table
Answer: I recommend Howard Orange Oil. It cleans wood items fantastically well, and I prefer it to Murphy's Oil Soap. I have all three products and the Orange Oil cleans and shines so well that I don't bother with the Feed N Wax most times. If I could only have one product to use with wood furniture and antiques I would choose the Orange Oil, but both it and the Feed N Wax are excellent products. I completely rejuvenated a depression era walnut buffet server, an old floor standing radio and a dried out and filthy butcher block style maple work bench with Orange Oil. It cleans better than Murphy's Oil Soap (or any other product I have ever used) and is absorbed by dry wood better than the Feed N Wax. It works wonders on old tool handles as well, such has hammers, axes, and shovels. And as a bonus, it cleans rust off the tools really well too.
Question: Is this supposed to be a thick wax or a liquid product? Mine arrived and I'm wondering if it got frozen. It's thick
Answer: Would be more than enough, I use the 1000 watt version to run my 4 6x8's.
Question: what should I clean wood furniture with first
Answer: This amp is almost 150 w rms. It is poor in power. I sold mine. In less money than the amount that I pay. Becouse it is poor.

User questions & answers

Question: How do you use it? mix with water
Answer: Hi -- Do not mix with water -- this product is ready to use -- apply the product to the rag and use on your wood surface. Thanks for the inquiry. Ken
Question: does it come in a glass or plastic bottle
Answer: Plastic bottle
Question: This item is less than $4 in the stores, why are you charging so much? Guess I'll drive over to Target
Answer: I live 120 miles from the nearest Target so that is why I order it from Amazon. I live in a rather remote area. And apparently a lot of people who take care of the wood in their homes don't ask for this in any store closer to me. Therefore I order it from Amazon.
Question: How much of this is real oil vs. mineral oil? With the low price, I'm guessing that there is very little lemon oil
Answer: In response to Francine ( 5years ago, but still...) This product is actually 90-100% MINERAL OIL, which IS a petroleum distillate. I don't know if maybe Francine meant to say there is no LEMON OIL, which is true, but there is MINERAL OIL. It's actually very similar to baby oil, it seems, with just a different fragrance. There are warnings about ingesting baby oil too. Mineral oil isn't toxic itself, but there is danger of aspiration pneumonia if it is ingested.

Answer: Bona seems to be the only product that can be recoated. I, too, have applied multiple coats to some areas that had to be stripped due to other products making a mess. So far, no problems with the multiple coats.
Question: Does this give a satin finish
Answer: No, it was not a satin finish.
Question: How many square feet does a 32 oz bottle cover? Approximately
Answer: Well, it really depends if you need to do one coat or two. I have a 1,000 square ft house, minus the bathroom and kitchen it's about 800 square ft of hardwood. I had to use two bottles to do two coats all over (ended up being about a bottle and a half). You really have to lay the stuff on thick to get that good shine.
Question: What is the difference between the Floor "Refresher" and the Floor "Polish"? I have old refinished hardwood floors. Thanks
Answer: What is the difference between Bona Refresher and is Bona Polish? Is it the same product?Refresher is 100% polyurethane and is re-coatable. It is not the same product as Polish. You can put Polish on top of Refresher, but you CANNOT put Refresher on top of Polish.
