As for the essential oil, if you have one of our ultrasonic humidifiers, then yes that will be perfectly fine to use. If you have one of our evaporative humidifiers we do not suggest using essential oils in the humidifier as it can shorten the life of your wick. Answer:	I wish the review of December 31, 2018 was the correct answer and it just contained ethyl alcohol. I received a bottle in September 2019 and was disappointed to see it contained n-Alkyl (60% C14, 30% C16, 5% C12, 5% C18) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chlorides, n-Alkyl (68% C12, 32% C14), dimethyl ethylbenzyl ammonium chlorides. I contacted the company and they sent me the MSDS which listed these ammonium chlorides as the active ingredients. I can't endorse something that is going to pump toxins like that in my breathing air.

Question:	How do I clean the air washer
Answer:	I'm sure there's a "proper" way to do it, but I developed my own method because we had three of them running at once in our home when we had wildfire smoke and I had to clean them every few days. They really gobbled-up bad air that came in. I would empty remaining water into the kitchen sink and gently scrub them out with a little scrub brush. I"d also gently scrub off any crud that settled on the white slotted cylinder part with an old toothbrush. The Venta comes apart so you can clean the fan, which also gets dirty if you've got smoky or just bad air. The units also put welcome moisture in the air if you live in a dry climate. I don't know if the Venta company would approve my "method," but it works for me. Good luck!

Answer:	The Water Treatment Additive is not required to operate the unit. We do, however, highly recommend regular usage when you have hard water. Answer:	Yes the Best Air Golden Solution sold in Lowe’s or Amazon does the trick and is considerably less expensive. I have used Venta products for over a decade and have tried a few solutions. The BestAir seemed to work similarly to the Venta. Removes grime and hard water deposits really well.
Question:	I have a LW25 and a LW45. Do I need to use more for the LW45 than for the LW25? Could not find any instructions on the bottle or manual
Answer:	Page 6 of the users manual says to use one sample bottle (that comes with unit) for LW 15/25 and both sample bottles for the LW45. Unfortunatlly I no longer have those sample bottles to tell me the volume in the bottles. If you still have those bottles then you should be able to figure out the amount to use as one dose of water treatment additive is 3.5 fl. Oz. equal to one black mark on left side of large bottle. If that doesn't help I would call the Venta hotline number 888 333-8218. Hope this helps

Answer:	the combo has a bacteriostic and a water treatment both. I find with our water, the treatment helps in limiting the build up on the filters.

Question:	What about using it with the Best Air "Water & Scaling" treatment to address both the scaling and bacteria issues
Answer:	I've used it for both in a wicking humidifier (as opposed to one using heat or sonic vibrations to atomize the water). We use the humidifier nearly continuously since both our heater and central air dry the house terribly. Note that the treatment prevents scaling by keeping the deposits soft so that you can wipe/wash them away. It cannot keep the calcium from precipitating out of the water. Bacteria will build up over several months time if you don't change your filter, no matter what solution you use. The anti-bacterial formulas in all products like this one kill of most of the bacteria/alge, but cannot be 100% effective. I change my wicking filter ever couple of months. The Best Air Treatment keeps my humidifier fresh and clean between filter changes.

Answer:	It's supposed to be mixed in with the water BUT it is not for use with ultrasonic humidifiers (which mine is and most I've seen are now a days) so I threw it away.

I didn't look at the directions and put it in without thinking as it was the first time I took it out this winter. The whole house filled with haze and it left dust everywhere! I was just googling around to see if this was what happened and the first thing that came up for this product was this answer! Don't put it in your ultrasonic unless you're looking for some serious atmosphere!

Answer:	There are no fumes associated with this product. If you want to know the ingredients call the number on the bottle. The product is used to decrease white dust and hard water buildup. If you don't have either of these problems when you use your cold water to fill the humidifier don't bother using it. I have used humidifiers of many kinds over the years and sometimes I use this type of product.

Answer:	I don't use rubber gloves while using this product, however I wash my hands after use if I get sloppy and spill it on to my hands. I see no great risk in using this product.

Answer:	Yes the tablets are definitely blue but the condensate discharge looks like clear water. I've never collected it in a glass to see if there is any coloration but the appearance is just water without color.

Answer:	It would be best to flush it well and try a tablet. The tablet is intended to provide a low level of chemical in the water to prevent bio-growth. Once established the growth may require more chemical to curtail than is released by the slow release tablet. In that case the unit would need to be fully cleaned and then use the tablet to maintain it and prevent the foul smell. I don't know your particular case, but I remember my son's A/C unit was so dirty that the air filter was completely blocked with debris as well as the inside.
