Answer:	It uses regular lithium CR123 battery, and you may use rechargeable CR123 battery which is called RCR123. So, CR123 is not rechargeable but CRC123 is rechargeable. The light comes with a CR123 battery so you cannot charge. If you buy a RCR123 somewhere else, you may charge your RCR123 battery, but you will charge it with a charger you buy.

Answer:	In North Carolina, we have hot summers and reasonably mild winters. I carry my Maglite in the car so it is subjected to high heat in the summer. Can't comment on extreme cold. Sorry.

Question:	What is the expiration date on these batteries
Answer:	Just got a pack in clearly printed 11-2029, so it looks like current stock definitely is sporting expiration dating!

Answer:	Oddly, these batteries remain on the list (as of Aug 1 2015) even after I've put a check in the "rechargeable" filter (to stop seeing non-rechargeables). They show up as "rechargeable" even though (based on the answers here) they almost certainly aren't rechargeable.
Question:	Why in the world are they not sold on Catalina
Answer:	Good question! I live on Catalina and discovered Best Buy has NO problem shipping Alkaline or Lithium batteries. While there were reports that lithium batteries caught fire and were therefore dangerous, they have since been made much safer than they were. The new regulations were to be restrictions based on over 100 watt hour batteries and intended only for bulk shipments, not individual consumer products such as laptops or tablets. This did not however stop UPS or FedEx from refusing such shipments for some time. I suspect this was due to lack of understanding of their own regulations, staff training and education on their part. Instead they choose to blame shippers for preventing them from shipping simple products, Amazon included. For some time after passing that new regulation, I had to have tablets shipped to the mainland, then at great expense shipped to me from there or brought over by boat which made me wait long periods of time to get my purchases. No fun at all! If you call someone at UPS's hazmat department it's like talking to a brick wall and as if they don't have anyone who actually understands batteries working there at all. When I called about a Backup UPS (uninterruptable power supply), they had no clue as to if the batteries in them were sealed or not much less what an uninterruptible power supply is! Heaven help us...Now things changed considerably and I am able to get phones, tablets, and laptops shipped directly with under 100 Wh lithium batteries installed, and I quote "regulations limit the Li-ion battery to no larger than 100Wh" REFERENCE: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_transport_batteriesThis still leaves the question about these type of batteries still being restricted and I would love to hear Amazon's response to this.
