User questions & answers
Question: | Will a Gamma Seal top fit this 7 gal bucket |
Answer: | Yes, a Gamma lid will fit this bucket but will not screw on. A standard 5 gal. bucket snap on lid will fit nicely. |
Question: | Can it allow100 Celsius degree water inside |
Answer: | That's 212 degrees Fahrenheit (Boiling water at STP); a HDPE bucket has a TEMPERATURE Rating of 230 degrees BUT (and it is important to heed the "but"), the load rating of the bucket drops considerably at that temperature (The bucket may deform if stacked or a heavy liquid is present in the bucket at that temperature. These buckets have no pressure vessel rating (for compressed gasses, or steam). That said, many people use these buckets for processing beer, and nowhere have I read of there being a problem... but processing the wort is generally done well below 200 degrees... (170-190 degrees). It really does depend on what you are using it for at that temperature. |
Question: | Is this food safe? I'm planning to make a lot of salsa |
Answer: | Yes this bucket is food safe. We advise an initial cleaning before using in food prep or storage. |
Question: | Where did you find your seat lid, please |
Answer: | I bought a bucket lid seat from L***'s (You might be feeling a little "low") and it worked fine. Any Bucket seat available for a 5 gallon bucket works with both the 6 and the 7 gallon pails. |
