| Answer: | Yes, the threads are plastic - however so is the remainder of the entire hook. The plastic of the entire hook is substantial thickness providing sufficient strength in my experience using it. It is designed to hold up and to pull rather lite items such as Christmas wires and lights, easily bent tree limbs of perhaps 1" diameter (my reason for getting the hook - to pull down and then saw off lower tree limbs) It depends on what you're going to use it for DW. If your intended use could be considered lite lifting or pulling down, I doubt there would be a need for worrying about stripping the threads - keep it screwed on tight - just don't over tighten. Like a lot of things in life for all of us, just don't over do. |
