I threw the whole unit away and ordered a new one. I now let the brush dry, over the bathroom sink, and then put it in the container. Then I wash the sink. And I also wash the drip tray portion the best I can. I still think OXO makes the best set for this purpose.

Answer: It’s the best I’ve found by far. The head is tapered, not angled so you have to work on all sides to reach the low entrance to the trap. Twisting the handle clockwise (so you don’t unscrew the brush) also helps. Replacement brush heads are easy to install. Lowermost bristles wear out first.

Answer: You need to clean the complete pipe. If you can access the chimney from the bottom and the top then you will need enough extension rods to reach just over 1/2 of the height of your chimney. The rods are flexible and will pass through minor bends. Each rod is approx 3' long so going from the bottom and top you can clean 18' of chimney with the standard kit. Order addtional extension rods if needed. NOTE - I purchased a Gardus cleaning kit to clean out clothes dryer vent. Amazing what lint stays in the vent line, but rods in Dryer Vent cleaner are same as on Chimney cleaner and you get 4 rods. If you purchase Dryer Vent cleaner kit you would get an extra 12' of extension rod. Answer: The toilet brush with holder that I had which worked with these brush heads has been discontinued. I have since replaced the set (handle and holder with brush head) with the newer model, which I like better. For one thing the brush head has a small brush that sticks out on the side near the top and it gets under the rim more easily. And, the old holder wasn't vented and mold could grow there. The new one has some holes (not noticeable at a glance) near the bottom. That helps with that problem. I'd give you the style/part number on my old set, but I don't have it anymore and I even looked at my old invoice here online and it doesn't say. You might go over to Oxo's website and see if they can help, too.
Question: Does the head unscrew
Answer: It does collect but it evaporates as well. Then there is a discoloration to the bottom of the inside. It is covered by the lid so it is not visible when not in use. I use bleach or vinegar occasionally to clean so there is no smell.
Question: Is the back of the base open so that the "gray water" from the brush evaporates rather than collect to form a fetid, smelly, unsanitary pool
Answer: As it sits on the floor, it is ~ 11 x 4 inches of floor space. It is ~ 22 inches tall. I hope that helps
Question: Does this plunger work with a low flow toilet with a non-round opening
Answer: It pools at the bottom of mine. Have had a few years now and works great. I just put some cleaner or bleach in the toilet bowl and clean it once in a while.

Question: Does this have interchangable heads ie: smooth not bristles for bathroom tiles
Answer: The head does come off but there are no other bristles but the ones that come in it. The head flips back and forth while trying to use it so it is very difficult to use. It would be better it the head did not move at all. Makes it almost useless.
Question: does this fit the extendable tile scrubber or does it require its own handle

Answer: Yes, it is so easy to use. I clean a standing shower( from floor to top) and Jacuzzi tub with the brush attachment. I don't really have to work that hard to get it clean. Very sturdy product, glad I bought it. Also bought other attachments that go with it and they work good to. To use this product I spray my cleaning stuff in shower and tub let sit for 10 minutes then use the brush, no more bending and you do not have to use that much pressure to scrub.
Question: I can't get to to lock into extended position. Is there a trick to it
Answer: They are tricky. You have to twist and twist until you find the right place to lock it in. Move up and down cause who knows where that spot is. Keep trying and it WILL lock.
