(Crushed in bare hands and shook) They're mostly for portable, on the spot cooling for injuries and often used to cool down over-heated persons with quick easy application behind the neck, knees, etc. until real ice can be obtained. Also, they loose their chill in most cases within 30 minutes. They would work to cool down some candy bars or fruit but again....30 minutes and they're pretty well spent. My suggestion is "Freezer Blocks". They're reuseable, very efficient and long lasting in a decent cooler, inexpensive and come in a multitude of sizes. | Answer: | The best icepack for post partum care is a child's diaper packed with ice. It's genius. Buy any old diapers, preferably for a larger toddler or small kid. Cut off the 4 elastic pieces that Velcro together so you basically have a giant pad. Then open the back of the diaper like a bag of chips. You'll see the fluffy pad, make sure to push the padding to the inside of the diaper to it can be absorbent, leaving the ice next to the outer shell of the diaper. You can staple or tape the back closed. Crushed ice is most comfortable, and you'll need to experiment with the amount of ice that is right for you. I would make 10 of these up at a time and stick them in the freezer. Best. Things. Ever. |

There is 2 lines running to the cooling pad to circulate chilled water through the pad. One line pumps water to the cooling pad and the other line returns the water to the tank. |

| Answer: | I had my right shoulder replacement surgery on 09/08/20, and I waited too long to get my Dr to order one, but since this one was cheaper that my insurance co cost. I used it everyday except now that my shoulder replacement is doing great; I’ve been using the pad on my right knee. There’s a booklet that shows you how to use it on each replacement. I can’t wait to have my knee replacement because I use ICE THERAPY for every injury except my back and ACL I use heating pads. Btw: The Coolman also packs in a few elastic bands with Velcro to keep on your shoulder. I could barely reach for myself, but my daughters were there to wrap me up in the beginning. Sometimes I use the bands for all my pains, knee, my right wrist, and shoulder. |
