Answer:	Hello. With this heating pad, you can choose how long you want it to stay on- from between 0-12 hours. Then when your hours have been reached, it automatically shuts off. I have used it all night for 8 hours and it stayed on all 8 hours, then shut off. Most heating pads stay on for about 3-4 hours, then shut off automatically.

Answer:	Yes, you can lie on it. We recommend users to lay it flat on top for best results. It should be noted that the time should be set, and the maximum time should not exceed 1 hour. The temperature should not be too high, the same effect, but safer.

The Thermotex works very well for me as I am on my second one after using the first one for up to a couple of hours every day for over 4 years, well made and effective. Answer:	It is good of you to ask. This is a Calgary, Alberta, Canada product. There a few dealers in the US, lots more in Canada. The electrical components are made in Canada, Thermotex having a Calgary Alta address. The cover is made in China. The "face" of the cover is 100% nylon, sort of like a velveteen. The backing is 50% nylon and 50% cotton. This is all according to the tag on my Thermotex Platinum. It comes with two velcro straps; a small one which I use for knees, etc. and a larger one for backs, hips, and so on. This is a very sturdy pad, and I very much like what it does for me.

I bought the 38' x 21" pad so it is long enough to go from my neck to my lumbar spine (but I'm 5'2").
