12 best sinus rinses
Sinus rinses, also known as nasal irrigation or nasal lavage, are a common method for clearing the nasal passages and relieving symptoms associated with nasal congestion, allergies, sinusitis, and other respiratory conditions. They are often used as part of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and treatments for respiratory health. Here's what you need to know about sinus rinses:
Purpose: Sinus rinses are designed to flush out mucus, allergens, and irritants from the nasal passages and sinuses. They help relieve congestion, reduce inflammation, and promote better nasal breathing.
Equipment: To perform a sinus rinse, you typically use a saline solution and a delivery device. The most common devices include a neti pot, squeeze bottle, or nasal irrigation syringe. These devices allow you to pour or spray the saline solution into one nostril, which then flows through the nasal passages and exits through the other nostril.
Saline Solution: The saline solution used for sinus rinses is made from a mixture of distilled or sterilized water and salt. This solution helps to mimic the natural balance of salts in your body and is generally safe and gentle on nasal tissues.
Technique: To perform a sinus rinse, you tilt your head to the side over a sink or basin, insert the device into one nostril, and allow the saline solution to flow through the nasal passages and exit from the other nostril. It's important to use proper technique to prevent discomfort or complications.
Benefits: Sinus rinses can provide several benefits, including:
- Relief from congestion: They help clear out mucus and reduce nasal blockage.
- Reduced inflammation: Sinus rinses can help decrease sinus inflammation.
- Allergy relief: They can flush out allergens like pollen and dust, providing relief from allergy symptoms.
- Sinus infection management: Sinus rinses may help manage symptoms of acute or chronic sinusitis.
Precautions: While sinus rinses are generally safe, it's important to use distilled or sterile water for the saline solution to avoid the risk of infection. It's also crucial to clean and sanitize your nasal irrigation device regularly to prevent bacterial contamination.
Consult a Healthcare Professional: If you have chronic or severe sinus issues, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional before starting a sinus rinse regimen. They can provide guidance on the appropriate frequency and technique for your specific condition.
Sinus rinses can be an effective and natural way to alleviate nasal congestion and improve respiratory health. Many over-the-counter saline rinse kits are readily available at drugstores and online, making it easy for individuals to incorporate this practice into their daily hygiene routines or as needed to manage sinus symptoms.

Mixture Packets Box Contains: 100 Regular Premixed Packets of pH Balanced Sodium Chloride & Sodium Bicarbonate Mixture (USP Grade, Natural Ingredients, Isotonic, Preservative Free & Iodine Free) Educational Brochure Instructions in English, Spanish or French What is the difference between Hypertonic (green) and Isotonic (blue) packets? This Green colored packet will make a Hypertonic (higher concentration) solution when mixed with 8 oz. (240 ml.) of water. It can also make an isotonic solution, equivalent to our regular blue colored packet, if mixed with 16 oz. (480 ml.) of water. Our regular product, the blue colored packet, makes an isotonic solution in 8 oz. (240 ml.) of water (using our SINUS RINSE bottle or other measuring devices). It is strongly recommended to use this Green packet only under the advice of your physician or using your judgment. A few research reports, plus feedback from some physicians and customers have reported additional benefits from using a hypertonic solution. If you experience any intolerable burning or stinging, please discontinue the use of the hypertonic solution. In my opinion, apart from transient, mild burning, it will not cause any permanent damage with a few uses. With time, you will be able to judge as far as what concentration of saline works best for you. What is the difference between the Pediatric Kit and the regular kit? NeilMed s Pediatric Sinus Rinse bottle has a volume capacity of 4 oz. (120 ml.), and an aperture (opening) on top of the cap of 3/32 in. (2.5 mm). Our Regular Sinus Rinse bottle has a volume capacity of 8 oz. (240 ml.) and an aperture (opening) on top of the cap of 3/16 in. (4.5 mm). Both systems are designed to give the same concentration of solution. Children or adults who feel that the volume of the regular 8 oz. (240 ml.) bottle with the 3/16 in. (4.5 mm) cap is too large, should consider trying the pediatric kit. The therapeutic benefits will be identical. Please do not use our regular blue colored. Suggested age - 10 years and up.

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the packets square (like in the product photo) or are they tube shaped |
Answer: | Neti pots & other nasal irrigation devicesMany people use Alkalol in neti pots and other rinse devices. Some tips to remember:An Alkalol Nasal Wash Cup holds 1 fluid ounce. Many neti pots hold 8 fl oz. Simply follow the directions above, adjusting the amount accordingly. When using a neti pot, or other large-volume irrigation device, we recommend mixing Alkalol with a salt water solution instead of plain water to ensure the best experience. Too much plain water in the mix can cause a burning sensation.Wash and dry your hands before using your nasal rinse device and make sure you clean and dry your nasal rinse device before and after use. |
Question: | how much water is it mixed with |
Answer: | Amazon itself is not selling this item. It is offered only by third-party sellers like myself (who buy it at places like Walmart). :) My typical customer is someone who doesn't live close to a Walmart, or perhaps doesn't drive, or maybe leads an extremely busy lifestyle and needs to pay someone to shop for them. That is essentially what they are doing when they buy from me - pay me to shop for them. My price on this item is currently $24.98, so after Amazon takes out $6.70 in fees, I'm left with a couple dollars to compensate me for my time to buy it, list it and ship it to Amazon's warehouse. It may seem a little crazy, but this is how I feed my family. Thanks for asking! Hope I cleared things up for you. |
Question: | Does each premixed packet contain powder or liquid? I.e. do I need to mix the contents with water before use |
Answer: | These are more than just salt. The baking soda buffers the saline solution, making it less irritating. I see no reason you can't gargle with this, but cheap table salt is probably at least as good. You can make the same thing a lot cheaper with pure salt (not iodized or with preservatives) and baking soda, but these single-use packets are convenient and cost only ~10 cents/use. |
Question: | what is the net content weight for each packet they are not marked |
Answer: | These contain 2.3 g of sodium and 0.7 g of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) per packet. Neil med contains 2.0 g of sodium plus not-listed baking soda. To be isotonic with the blood's usual max. of 0.145M sodium concentration, there should be a max. of 2.01 g of sodium per 8 fluid oz. of water (yes, I am a certified master chemist with a graduate degree from IIT). Overdoing it by 15% -as is done here- should be negligible and possibly beneficial since it would tend to make blood vessels push out liquid and reduce pressure but it's probably dilute enough to not have any effect. Note that 0.7 g of baking soda increases the molar concentration of sodium by only 0.02, which is negligible. |

- We recommend that you use the rinse ONE HOUR PRIOR to bedtime in order to avoid any residual solution dripping down the throat.
- We strongly advise against the use of our kit on children or adults who have physical limitations or mental disabilities due to developmental or acquired disorders. Adults should read the directions first before using it on their children. Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow the solution; however, if you do so accidentally, there is no harm as the amount of sodium ingested in one swallow is insignificant.

Product description
NeilMed SinuFlo Ready Rinse is a premixed solution that lets you enjoy a natural, soothing saline nasal wash anywhere in the world, without having to measure ingredients or findpurified water. The easy-squeeze bottle system allows you to deliver saline solution with sufficient pressure to clean your nasal passages thoroughly, while maintaining your head in a comfortable position. By washing away excess mucus—as well as allergens, bacteria and environmental pollutants—nasal irrigation can reduce inflammation and relieve congestion, runny nose and post-nasal drip. It has also been found to reduce infection and decrease the need for sinus medications. SinuFlo Ready Rinse is excellent for all ages.Step 1: Please wash your hands. Remove cap and safety seal from bottle. You may warm the solution in a microwave. We recommend that you warm it in increments of five seconds. This is to avoid excessive heating of the water and damage to the device or scalding your nasal passage. Step 2: Assemble black dome cap and tube, then tighten the cap and tube on the bottle securely. Step 3: Standing in front of a sink, bend forward to your comfort level and tilt your head straight down. Keeping your mouth open without holding your breath, place cap snugly against your nasal passage and SQUEEZE BOTTLE GENTLY until the solution starts draining from the OPPOSITE nasal passage or from your mouth. Keep squeezing the bottle GENTLY until at least 1/4 to 1/2 (60 mL/2oz to 120 mL/4oz) of the bottle is used for a proper rinse. Do not swallow the solution. Step 4: Blow your nose gently, without pinching your nose completely because this will apply pressure on the eardrums. If tolerable, sniff in any residual solution remaining in the nasal passage once or twice prior to blowing the nose as this may clean out the posterior nasopharyngeal area (the area at the back of your nasal passage). Some solution will reach the back of the throat, so please spit it out. To help improve drainage of any residual solution, blow your nose gently while tilting your head to the opposite side of the nasal passage that you just rinsed. Now repeat steps 2 & 3 for your other nasal passage.

The SinuPulse Elite was developed and engineered in Switzerland to be the best and most advanced nasal sinus irrigation system in the world complete with state-of-the-art electronics and Intellipulse™ technology. The SinuPulse Elite® is an award-winning sinus irrigation system which features the patented SinuMist® function. It is the only sinus irrigator capable of delivering both a gentle pulsating mist spray for doctor recommended rinses, solutions, or simple moisturizing and a more thorough cleansing pulsating rinse to clear the sinuses and massage the nasal cilia to their normal, healthy state. It really is like having two units in one! The oscillating stream of saline gently breaks down bio-film and frees your cilia to help you clear your sinuses of infections and foreign substances that can lead to chronic infections and allergy symptoms.
The SinuPulse Elite is a soothing drug free device to relieve symptoms caused by sinus infections, sinusitis, allergies and the common cold including: post nasal drip, cough, congestion, sinus headaches, and irritated nasal passages. Recommended by leading health care professionals pulsating irrigation is supported by published medical reports.
Nasal Irrigation is believed to have originated over 5,000 years ago in ancient India. The practice of irrigation in ancient times consisted of manually sniffing a saltwater solution into the nostrils to help relieve nasal congestion by rinsing the sinus passages of pollens originating from grasses, weeds, flowers and trees. Modern day neti pots and nasal wash bottles continue this tradition and have changed little over the last 5,000 years. However, advancements have been made in both the design of sinus irrigation delivery systems and the solutions used to clean the nose of inflammatory irritants responsible for allergy and sinus symptoms.
Imagine rain drops falling from the sky landing on the soil with a gentle force that breaks apart soil particles. As this process continues, runoff water travels over the ground, collecting more soil particles dislodged by the rain and transports them to a new location. Pulsatile irrigation mimics a cleansing process present in nature. The SinuPulse Elite® pulsating treatment is gentle, pleasant, & soothing leaving you feeling clear and fresh. The sinus system uses ordinary saline, or for best results, our enhanced SinuAir® nasal irrigation solution.
The SinuPulse Elite advanced features include: state-of-the-art Micro Touch power button, electronic LED display, encapsulated motor and pump assembly to resist wear from saline, improve durability and performance. fully adjustable pressure and pause control on handle for finger tip control, hypo allergenic design, calibrated pulse rate, measurement scale, hi-capacity water tank with hygienic cover, soft color coded nasal tips for family members, and sinus treatment information.

Question: | How would I clean and sanitize this unit after each use |
Answer: | The label states the following:"No parabens, no phthalates, no paraffin, no gluten, no propylene glycol, no mineral oil, no synthetic fragrance, no PABA, no synthetic color, no DEA, no sulfates and no animal ingredients". The ingredients are listed as follows:Deionized Water, Raw Butyrospermum Parkii Oil* (Shea), Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter* (Cacao), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Olus Oil, Argania Spinosa Nut Oil (Argan), Centhera Biennis Oil (Evening Primrose), Borage Officinalis Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil (Jojoba), Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil (Rosehip), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Boswellia Serrata Oil (Frankincense), Chamomile Extract, Myrrh Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle), Lonicera Japonica (Japanes HoneySuckle) Flower Extract* Certified Organic Ingredient |
Question: | Can you switch which side the water goes in and which side it gets sucked out? I'd like the ability to do it both ways |
Answer: | It should. I suffer from eczema but I’m under treatment. I love this lotion and I’m always looking for lotions that only have natural ingredients. In my case, I add jojoba oil for more hydration. |
Question: | I can't find how this actually works. Does water go in one nostril and out the other? I'm just curious how the water gets in and out |
Answer: | Its not as thick as it used to be. Im very disappointed. It is thinned down...probably so it goes through the pump better. It works for the 1st half or more of tub, then the bottom stuff is thicker so the pump doesnt work so well anymore. With the original, thicker formula, I got so tired of messing with their pumps, that i almost switched to another brand of lotion. But I loved the thick formula, so I cut the bottles open and scooped the lotion into old olive jars, or whatever jars i had available. I loved scooping it out of a jar (versus pump), and used it lavishly....after I had transferred it to another container. I called the company to appeal to them to please put it in tubs (cuz the pumps didnt work), and also to market it with other lotions....instead of hidden in the baby section only. Not long later, (possibly in response to complaints) they came out with the thinned down version. I am so disappointed, and feel it was a marketing mistake. I still purchase the lotion sometimes, but also use other lotions that do the job just as well. Considering the thinned down version, the price is really elevated. |
Question: | Do you need a new salt pod each time you use it, I am trying to tigger the dayle cost, looks like to me about .38 cents a us, is that right |
Answer: | I have not and I havent heard of it used that way either. |

Here's how Naväge works!
Naväge uses powered suction to:
- Pull refreshing saline from the upper tank into one nostril,
- Around the back of the nose, and
- Out the other nostril and into the lower tank.
Naväge is the world's only nose cleaner with powered suction to flush out allergens, mucus, dust, and germs. It's like the difference between a vacuum and a broom!
Naväge SaltPods and water create a perfectly balanced nose rinse – every time!
For safety and convenience, reliability and effectiveness, the Naväge Nose Cleaner only works with genuine Naväge SaltPods.
It's so simple!
No more measuring. No more salt spills. No more mess. Just pop in a SaltPod and Naväge does the rest!
Filled with pharmaceutical-grade saline concentrate, the SaltPod mixes instantly. You'll never have to worry about spilling salt again!
Naväge SaltPods are Nature's Decongestant!
New User Tip: Position the nose pillows correctly and keep your head level.
First, press the pillows in firmly to create a good seal. Once the cycle is initiated, back off a little to increase the flow. It's all about position (keep the tips centered and unblocked), and pressure (just enough to make a seal).
If a pillow tip is blocked, suction will decrease or stop, and you may get water down your throat.
Relax, smile, and stand up straight with your head level. This keeps the Nose Cleaner in the right position and allows the saline to flow freely though your nose.
We want Naväge to work for you, and we are sincerely committed to your having the best possible Naväge experience!
Some new users experience new user challenges, but extensive experience has taught us that most problems can be solved by following the troubleshooting tips, reading the Owner’s Manual, and watching instructional videos.
But if you need additional assistance we’ll do whatever it takes to get you back on track.
We’re here to help!
Naväge SaltPods are manufactured in Brooklyn, Ohio, USA.

- THE XYLITOL REVOLUTION: Xlear’s revolutionary patented saline solution formula adds 4g of xylitol along with 2g of saline. Unlike the typical nasal rinse , this is a superior, longer-lasting, proactive treatment that tackles the root cause of congestion and infection rather than just relieving short-term symptoms. Our natural sinus rinse works great with any nasal irrigation system or as a replacement for neti pot salt packets as a daily nose cleaner.
- MORE THAN JUST SALT: Xylitol is a safe nasal cleaner with natural ingredients that prevents irritants and bacteria from sticking to nasal passages while reducing swollen tissue. Our saline packets sinus rinse offers a superior nasal and sinus congestion relief and keeps sinuses healthy for clear breathing. Xlear natural sinus rinse can also be used with our nasal spray for alleviating severe sinus congestion.
- REAL RELIEF AT LAST: Xlear’s groundbreaking formula offers superior congestion relief brought on by allergies, sinusitis, post nasal drip, weather, colds, or smoky environments, remaining effective long after initial use so you can breathe comfortably. Quick and easy sinus buster, just add the solution to a sinus rinse bottle to find fast relief.
- REDUCES SWOLLEN TISSUE: While the plain salt of regular saline water rinses can dry out the sinuses over time, Xlear’s xylitol increases tonicity, allowing it to pull more moisture into your nasal passage for long-term moisture and reduced swelling. Can be used as a daily nasal wash with neti pots or sinus rinse bottles.
- ALLEVIATE YOUR ALLERGIES & COLD SYMPTOMS: Naturally open your airways and reduce bacterial adhesion by removing airborne contaminants, pathogens, pollen, dander, dust, allergens, and more with Xlear’s patented formula. Our rinse is also great to be used as a sinus cleaner to provide dry nose relief.
User questions & answers
Question: | does this use the same xylitol that's also sold and used as a sweetener |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. We do not recommend using this product with a CPAP reservoir. |
Question: | Can this be used in my cpap reservoir |
Answer: | Your navage has to use the pods, but you can get just xylitol packets & add with the water before inserting the pod |
Question: | Can it be used with Navage? How do you, just add to the tank |
Answer: | The squeeze bottle I use is larger than the previous salt alone sinus rinse. I have been using Xlear for about 2 years, and I find it less irritating... the salt seems diluted by the addition of the Xylitol. |
Question: | How does this compare to regular salt (only) saline rinses |
Answer: | This product is my go to! As soon as I start to feel a hint of a stuffy nose or soar throat I use it 3 or 4 times that day and the cold just never develops! I found it when trying to heal a sinus infection that 3 rounds of antibiotics could not kill! They were talking surgery so I was searching for an alternative and this worked when nothing else did!! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can thos be used multiple times |
Answer: | No, I just fill it up. I use two cups of water and fill it twice, once for each side. |
Question: | Is it bpa frer |
Answer: | It does not come with salt. Only the pot. |
Question: | where is this made |
Answer: | I would not recommend putting this pot in a microwave. The manufacturer or distributor has described its glaze as a "food-grade sealant" with no further explanation, but it has been flagged by a California Proposition 65 warning for a reason and the consumer has a right to know why there is such a warning on a product that is meant to promote health. One can only wonder if the glaze is unsafe. When I use this pot, I boil Smart Water in a pan on the stove and let it cool before adding salt. I recently let the water cool too long and made the mistake of putting the pot in the microwave for ten seconds. This resulted in burning sinuses and an acrid odor or taste that was not organic. Without more information on the chemical constituents of the glaze on a product manufactured in China that is being used to clean sinuses, I would not purchase this product again and urge those who sell it to investigate the reason it was flagged and make it public. |
Question: | Should I only use distilled water only |
Answer: | I purchased because the answers said the handle is not hollow. I just received it and it is definitely hollow. It will be difficult to keep clean because the opening at the top is a lot smaller than the bottom opening. Returning this one. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use Zero-water |
Answer: | No, the infant bath will drain into the blue part, but once you are ready to move up to the bigger tub the blue part can be used as a stool, or a seat, which is how I used it. I am the grandma and this was the greatest thing for me. We used it from birth to 14 months old. I still use the blue seat. |
Question: | Do i need to wash the bottle with dishwashing soap before using the bottle for the first time |
Answer: | as pictured it is used for infants in elevated mode. the sit assist plug can be used in bottom while elevated with blue step lift |
Question: | May I ask if it is normal that every time after rinse my nose, it turned very congested. Thanks |
Answer: | Yes, there is a texture to help prevent slipping on the inside of the white tub on the Right Height Tub |
Question: | what does the Sinus Rinse Complete Kit include |
Answer: | I don't own the comfort height bathtub, and I have never actually seen one in person, so this response is heavily based on supposition of appearance. The only advantages I can see are primarily if using the tub with a very small infant. The comfort height bathtub uses an insert for this. I felt this presented a possibility for the child to possibly slip or squirm and perhaps end up between the insert and the tub, and the insert doesn't look very comfortable to me. You are also relying on the insert to attach firmly and stay in place. I don't know how the insert attaches or if this is even a real concern, but it is no concern at all in the "right height" bathtub because the small infant piece is it's own tub, not just an insert. It also appeared to be a more comfortable arrangement to me. Also, the "right height" tub appears to me to be a little taller, and when using the tub in the small infant mode (using the large tub as a base) it seems to have a wider base that offers more stability. These were my reasons for choosing the "right height" tub instead of the "comfort height", even though it is more expensive. |

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
USE ONLY AS DIRECTED, IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST SEE YOUR DOCTOR/HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL. ALWAYS READ THE LABEL.
Step 1 Please wash your hands. Fill the clean bottle with the designated volume of either distilled, micro-filtered (through 0.2 micron filter), commercially bottled or previously boiled and cooled down water. Always rinse your nasal passages with NeilMed Sinus Rinse packets only. Our packets contain a mixture of USP grade sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. These ingredients are of the purest quality available to make the dry powder mixture. Rinsing your nasal passages with only plain water without our mixture will result in a severe burning sensation as the plain water is not physiologic for your nasal lining, even if it is appropriate for drinking. Additionally, for your safety, do not use tap or faucet water for dissolving the mixture unless it has been previously boiled for five minutes or more as boiling sterilizes the water. Other choices are distilled, micro-filtered (through 0.2 micron), commercially bottled or, as mentioned earlier, previously boiled water at lukewarm or body temperature. You can store boiled water in a clean container for seven days or more if refrigerated. Do not use non-chlorinated or non-ultra (0.2 micron) filtered well water unless it is boiled and then cooled to lukewarm or body temperature. *You may warm the water in a microwave in increments of 5 to 10 seconds to avoid overheating the water, damaging the device or scalding your nasal passage.
Step 2 Cut the Sinus Rinse mixture packet at the corner and pour its contents into the bottle. Tighten the cap and tube on the bottle securely. Place one finger over the tip of the cap and shake the bottle gently to dissolve the mixture.
Step 3 Standing in front of a sink, bend forward to your comfort level and tilt your head down. Keeping your mouth open, without holding your breath, place the cap snugly against your nasal passage. SQUEEZE BOTTLE GENTLY until the solution starts draining from the OPPOSITE nasal passage. Some may drain from your mouth. For a proper rinse, keep squeezing the bottle GENTLY until at least 1/4 to 1/2 (60 mL to 120 mL or 2 to 4 fl oz) of the bottle is used. Do not swallow the solution.
Step 4 Blow your nose very gently, without pinching nose completely to avoid pressure on eardrums. If tolerable, sniff in gently any residual solution remaining in the nasal passage once or twice, because this may clean out the posterior nasopharyngeal area, which is the area at the back of your nasal passage. At times, some solution will reach the back of your throat, so please spit it out. To help drain any residual solution, blow your nose gently while tilting your head forward and to the opposite side of the nasal passage you just rinsed.
Step 5 Now repeat steps 3 and 4 for your other nasal passage. Most users find that rinsing twice a day is beneficial, similar to brushing your teeth. Many doctors recommend rinsing 3-4 times daily or for special circumstances, even rinsing up to 6 times a day is safe. Please follow your physician’s advice.
Step 6 Clean the bottle and cap. Air dry the Sinus Rinse bottle, cap, and tube on a clean paper towel, a lint free towel, or use NeilMed NasaDOCK or NasaDOCK plus (sold separately) to store the bottle, cap and tube.
It is very important to keep these devices clean and free from any contamination.Replace the bottle every 3 months.
- Dishwasher Cleaning: Do not use a dishwasher to clean the inside of a bottle. While our bottle is dishwasher safe, a dishwasher will not adequately clean the SINUS RINSE bottle. The water jets in dishwashers cannot enter the narrow neck of the bottle, and portions of the bottle's interior will not be cleaned thoroughly. Additional methods of cleaning the bottle include the use of concentrated white vinegar or isopropyl alcohol (70% concentration), followed by scrubbing and rinsing as described above.
- Microwave Disinfection: Clean the device with soap and water as mentioned above and shake off the excess water. Now place the bottle, cap and tube in the microwave for 40 seconds. This will disinfect the bottle, cap and tube. If the microwave has been used recently, please make sure that the inside of the microwave has cooled back down to room temperature before using it to disinfect the bottle.

- Before using the SINUS RINSE Kit for the first time, please inspect the cap, tube and bottle carefully for wear and tear. If any of the components appear discolored or cracked, please contact NeilMed to obtain a replacement.
- Patients who are unable to stand up or bend near the sink SHOULD NOT use this product. We advise you NOT to use this kit on patients who are bed bound or severely debilitated.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the xylitol made from corn or birch |
Answer: | Each pre-mixed packet contains dry powder in quantity sufficient to make a buffered isotonic saline solution that is compatible to use on body tissues when mixed with 240 mls (8 oz - one cup) of distilled or deionized water. DO NOT use tap water to mix it with. It contains chlorine which can create a burning sensation to the sensitive tissues of the nasal passages. |
Question: | Why does it say to replace the bottle every 3 months |
Answer: | 2 grams ea so 100 packets works out to 7 cents but they dont list the weight. I use sinuair its 10.47 30 packets 5 grams each for 150 grams which works out to .07 cents a gram also but I like their formulation of potassium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium chloride, and bicarb better |
Question: | How many grams of xylitol are in each sachet |
Answer: | NOTHING BESIDES DISTILLED or previously boiled water should be used with any medical product going in the nose. There is nothing wrong with Zero-Water but it is a FILTER and will not remove everything including cryptosporidium and microbiological contaminants (according to Zero-Water's website but this is true of any FILTER). Distilled and boiling evaporate contaminates or at least kill them. It is very important to realize that there are things in water (including well filtered water like Zero-Water) that your gut can tolerate. This means your stomach will kill bad things like bacteria. BUT your sinus system does not have the same defenses. Get one of these nasties in you and you can become very sick and in rare cases die. The good news is a gallon of distilled water goes for as little as 60 cents in a discount store but should be no more than $1 in a grocery store. Each time you use this product you use 8oz of water. So with distilled your safe AND your filter for Zero-Water will last longer. Don't take anyone's word here. Read NeilMed's instructions. You can sterilize in the microwave too but distilled is safe and easy. One jug will last for 16 treatments of this product. |
Question: | Where is this product made |
Answer: | Dishwashing Soap I wouldn't recommend because of the chemicals in DIsh soap can irritate the nose. I would use an anti Bacterial soap or saline solution anything that cleans bacteria and used in sensitive areas of skin |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you like this product |
Answer: | I believe this is the purpose of this product |
Question: | Hello! Does this product provide moisture, looking for something to help with dryness. thanks |
Answer: | Flonase is better because Flonase has no saline. If you have dry nose problems (most chronic rhinitis patients have dry nose problems) with nosebleed, especially in winter or dry climate, you should avoid saline based nasal spray or just use it for short period such as 2 weeks. The saline will dry out your nasal membranes. In addition, you can try Azelastine or Dymista for allergic rhinitis. They are more effective than Flonase. Xlear will cause nose bleeding when blowing nose because of its saline ingredients. In short, if you have nosebleed problems due to the dry climate, do not use the Xlear. |
Question: | How does this compare to Flonase |
Answer: | The wash cleanses the sinuses while leaving behind xylitol to fight bacterial. I use the spray in between sinus washes and when it is not practical to use a wash. |
Question: | What's the difference between the spray and the wash? I'm interested in a spray for allergies and for fighting bacteria when I fly |
Answer: | Not sure as always when I wash my kids’ hair I ask them to close the eyes. This shampoo is awesome and you just need to use little amount. I see big difference in the hair condition of my daughter, her hair is much thicker. |
