8 best nasal cleansing pots

Nasal cleansing pots, also known as neti pots, are devices used for a practice called nasal irrigation or nasal rinsing. This technique is often used as a natural remedy for various sinus-related issues, allergies, and other respiratory problems. Here is some information about nasal cleansing pots and their uses:

  1. Purpose: Nasal cleansing pots are primarily used to flush out mucus, allergens, and irritants from the nasal passages and sinuses. This can help relieve symptoms such as congestion, sinusitis, and allergies.

  2. Design: These pots typically resemble a small teapot or a container with a spout. They come in various materials, including ceramic, plastic, or metal. The design allows for the controlled flow of a saline solution into one nostril and out through the other.

  3. Saline Solution: To use a nasal cleansing pot, you'll need a saline solution. This solution is made by mixing purified or distilled water with salt. The saline solution helps to loosen mucus and cleanse the nasal passages.

  4. Procedure: The user typically leans over a sink, tilts their head to one side, and gently pours the saline solution into one nostril while breathing through the mouth. The solution flows through the nasal passages and exits through the other nostril, carrying away mucus and other debris. This process is repeated on the other side.

  5. Benefits: Nasal irrigation with a neti pot can provide relief from congestion, sinus pressure, and other sinus-related issues. It can also help alleviate allergy symptoms by flushing out allergens from the nasal passages.

  6. Precautions: It's important to use only distilled or purified water in the saline solution to avoid introducing harmful microorganisms into the nasal passages. Improper use or contaminated water can lead to infections. Be sure to follow proper cleaning and maintenance instructions for the pot.

  7. Safety: If you are unsure about using a neti pot or have underlying health conditions, it's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before starting nasal irrigation. This is particularly important for individuals with a compromised immune system.

Nasal cleansing pots can be a helpful part of a holistic approach to managing sinus and allergy issues. However, it's essential to use them correctly and maintain proper hygiene to ensure their safety and effectiveness.

User questions & answers

Question: where is this made
Answer: I have fixed sights so I don't know. I looked at it and since I don't have any guns with the optics I do not know the answer. I know everyone who has see the bag likes it alot. It would seem that if you slide the tray out and then slip the gun in it may fit. If you put the tray in first then it might be a tighter fit, I do notice that the shape of the rack is such that it might work. I think you would have to try it. I put a 380 and S&W 9mm in no problem but regular fixed sights. Sorry cannot help you more.
Question: Is this neti pot lead free
Answer: Easily. I've had 3 handguns, ammo, large ear muffs, safety glasses, and much more in the small bag atthe same time. I also have the large bag which has the exact same design. I much prefer the small bag. The large bag has the same number of compartments which are actually too big; handguns get "swallowed up" and aren't securely in place because of so much extra space. I believe they should have divided the large bag into more compartments.
Question: Hello, is tge handle solid or hollow? Thanks, Ken
Answer: Have you tried contacting Osage?
Question: Is this microwave safe
Answer: I purchased the LARGER size Osage Bag, and returned it for another color. This larger size which is 18 inches WILL fit your GLOCK case. When I returned the Bag for the other color, I accidently ordered the smaller Light Duty case. The Light Duty works for my Glock/Holster ONLY. I would recommend the LARGER 18 bag. Hope this helps.
Question: Where is it made
Answer: Yes with ease Rob. Assuming that you're referring to a box of 25 shells. This bag has plenty of room in the center pouch with two adjustable foam padded dividers that are secure by velcro.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a jug of filtered water....is that ok to use or not? Thanks
Answer: There wouldn't be harmful bacteria in sterile water that might be present in other sources. It's up to you to determine how safe your filtered water is. I use distilled didn't want to chance it.
Question: In which country is this Nettie pot manufactured
Answer: Shape is of lotus flower & water design/trademark of Himalayan Institute. Made in China.
Question: Is the handle hollow? Is water able to get trapped there
Answer: The bottom half is hollow but not the top. No water cannot get trapped inside. It's great product and I've owned it many years. Enjoy to the max!
Question: The directions i saw on youtube say to use tap water. what? i believe we're supposed to use distilled water. any comments on this
Answer: Yes the direction say only use distilled or sterile water ( you can boil it yourself ) I do have my own well and a filter system so I feel confident with using my tap water with no problems. I believe that city treated water may irritate the nasal cavity or dry it out causing easier nose bleeds. I also think that some people might use unsanitary or unclean water if not told otherwise. So its probably also a smart legal thing ( and safe thing ) to say. There are some crazy people out there that might use stream or rain water. Ive seen crazier things LOL.

Product features

Himalayan Chandra Neti Pot Complete Sinus Cleansing System Starter Kit

The Himalayan Institute introduced the ceramic Neti Pot in 1972. Our trademarked lotus design and distinctive shape dispenses the perfect rate of flow to optimally cleanse the sinus passages. Made with food-grade glaze and certified lead-free.

Why Nasal Wash?

The nasal passages are lined with a thin layer of mucus that is one of our body’s first lines of defense against disease. A nasal wash keeps this layer of mucus moist, clean and healthy. When compared to other nasal wash techniques, using the Neti Pot is easy. A nasal wash can be as routine as brushing your teeth.

Rinsing with saline solution is a time-honored practice in the Orient. Here in the West, the nasal wash has been used for decades as a means of treating sinus problems, colds, allergies, and post-nasal drip and to counteract the effect of environmental pollution. Those practicing yoga and other meditative disciplines use the nasal wash to ensure free air flow through both nostrils.

A Healthy Nose

Breathing through the nose filters and conditions the incoming air. The nasal passages are lined with a thin layer of mucus that traps dirt, dust, and pollen and moves steadily to the rear of the nasal cavity and settles in the throat where it is swallowed. Saline nasal rinses carry some of these impurities out of the body before they reach your stomach.

They also keep this protective layer of mucus functioning properly. If the mucus becomes too thick and dry or too thin and runny, it is easier for bacteria and viruses to penetrate the nasal lining and cause the swelling and excess discharge of mucus we call a “cold”. That’s why gargling or sniffing a little salt water at the first sign of a cold is a staple of folk medicine and why health-conscious people in India use a small pot of saline to rinse the nasal passages. The Neti Pot continues these time-tested traditions of hygiene.

Uses for the Nasal Wash:

Suggestions:

  • Do the nasal wash to wake up, clear your nostrils, and start the day breathing freely.
  • Use it to remove excess mucus when you are experiencing nasal congestion.
  • Do it several times a day during the allergy season to rid the nostrils of pollen and other allergens.
  • Use the nasal wash when you’ve been exposed to soot, dust, smoke, or other airborne contaminants.
  • Use it to dissolve mucus build-up in dry climates or in air-conditioned or heated rooms or after air travel. Do the nasal wash before practicing systematic relaxation techniques or meditation to help you breathe freely and easily through your nose.

How to Use a Neti Pot & Quick Guide

The correct head position ensures a comfortable flow of water through the nasal passages. Lean over the sink so you are looking directly into the basin, and then rotate your head to the side so that one nostril is directly above the other. The forehead should remain level with the chin or slightly higher. Gently insert the spout into the upper nostril to create a comfortable seal. Keep your mouth open and raise the handle of the Neti Pot gradually so that the saline solution flows in through the upper nostril and out through the lower nostril.
