Answer:	Hello, For the most accurate answer you should go by his waist size. If you provide his height there is a prevail chart that I could use where they suggest size based on that info. For the 230lb range most of the chart states an XL would be best. Thank You- ProCare Health

Answer:	Someone here said there was a way to rip them on the sides but I used these and a couple of times I tried to rip the side material and had no luck ripping them.

Answer:	I never measured the liquid but I started using these overnight and when I know it's going to be a long time before I can get changed. They hold ALOT. Mine rarely rip too easily on the sides. Look at the lot number stamped on the end - the last 4 numbers tell you the year they were manufactured. If it's not the current year, then they have been on the shelf too long and old ones DO rip too easily (sometimes when you're putting them on.)
