12 best sole insoles
Sole insoles are specialized footbed inserts designed to improve foot comfort, support, and overall foot health. These insoles are typically placed inside shoes to provide cushioning, arch support, and stability. Here's what you need to know about sole insoles:
Foot Comfort and Support:
- Sole insoles are crafted to enhance comfort by offering additional padding and cushioning to the feet. They can help reduce discomfort, fatigue, and pain associated with extended periods of standing or walking.
Arch Support:
- Many sole insoles feature arch support that helps maintain the natural alignment of the foot's arch. This can be especially beneficial for individuals with flat feet or high arches, as it can alleviate strain on the arch and reduce the risk of conditions like plantar fasciitis.
Customizable Fit:
- Some sole insoles are designed to be heat-moldable, allowing them to conform to the unique shape of the wearer's foot. This customization enhances comfort and support and can address specific foot issues or irregularities.
Materials:
- Sole insoles are often made from high-quality materials such as EVA foam, cork, or memory foam. These materials provide cushioning, shock absorption, and durability while remaining lightweight.
Foot Health:
- Wearing sole insoles can contribute to improved foot health by providing proper arch support and alignment. This can help prevent or alleviate conditions like shin splints, heel pain, and overpronation.
Footwear Compatibility:
- Sole insoles are designed to fit a wide range of shoe types, including athletic shoes, casual footwear, work boots, and even high heels. They are available in various sizes to accommodate different shoe sizes.
Activity-Specific Insoles:
- Some sole insoles are tailored to specific activities, such as running, hiking, or skiing. These specialized insoles address the unique demands of these activities, providing extra cushioning or support where needed.
Maintenance:
- To maintain the effectiveness and longevity of sole insoles, it's essential to clean them regularly and replace them when they show signs of wear or lose their supportive properties.
Medical Use:
- In some cases, medical professionals may recommend or prescribe custom orthotic insoles to address specific foot conditions. These may be different from over-the-counter sole insoles and are tailored to an individual's specific needs.
Cost-Effective Solution:
- Sole insoles can be a cost-effective solution for individuals seeking additional foot support and comfort without the expense of custom orthotics.
In summary, sole insoles are designed to enhance foot comfort, provide arch support, and promote overall foot health. They come in various materials and styles to accommodate different needs and activities, making them a popular choice for individuals looking to improve their foot wellness and alleviate discomfort.

User questions & answers
Question: | I bought these and didn't start using them till Sept. My question is why won't they stick to my shoes. I even tried washing them and they still don't |
Answer: | A question we have for you, did you remove the plastic film that covers the entirety of sticky bottom side? They stick to most shoes really well, however there are certain fabrics that they do not adhere to quite as well. In these cases, if it is a removable liner, then you can place the insoles underneath the liner. If the insoles aren't sticky to the touch, then there's a chance you have a defective pair. They should feel very sticky. No matter the answer, we are here to help and we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. So, please send us an email or give us a call so we can make sure to keep you happy. If you need an exchange or to do a refund please let us help you out. 619-746-7256 or message us at: info at soulinsole dot com. |
Question: | Can these inserts work with Converse shoes |
Answer: | Yes! Our insoles are an excellent solution to add support into Converse Shoes. Since most converse shoes do not have a removable liner, our insoles can simply stick down to the top of the liner to add support without crowding space in the shoes. If you have the newer style converse (with the removable liner) you can place our insoles underneath the removable liner. Please let us know if we can help to answer any further questions! |
Question: | Do these insoles help low back pain |
Answer: | I have several of these for my heel pain. I can't say if they help for back pain per se, but while I don't always have that, if I am in random shoes or barefoot for a long time, I will have back pain. Unbalanced feet throw the whole spine out of alignment. My feet seriously over-pronate, for my entire life. Do you know the cause of your back pain? You might check into "negative heel shoes," like Earth or Vionic. They are known for correcting posture and improving back pain. High heels are not your friend. :) |
Question: | What is the difference between your sizes, is it arch or shoe size |
Answer: | We have 3 sizes and each size gets progressively longer, wider and thicker in the arch area. The size guide is based on shoe size, however sometimes those with with low arches, or those who are on the lower end of the size range, or those who are using our insoles in shoes that have some existing support may choose to go down one size. Also, occasionally those with very high arches, who are on the higher end of the size range will choose to go up one size. Let's say, for example, you are a size 8 women's with a low arch/flat foot. This is on the smallest end of the size medium. You may find that there are certain shoes that are very flat in which you prefer to use the size medium, but other shoes might have a narrow midfoot region or some existing support and you prefer the size small. Hope this helps! Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance! [email protected] |

What's The Difference Between The Original Shoe Bubble and The Pro-lite?
Deciding between the original Max and the Pro-Lite is based mostly on amount of support needed, arch height and type of shoes that you're placing them into. If your arches are medium to low and the shoes have some existing support or a narrow midfoot region, it's nice to use the Pro-Lite so that you don't end up with too much support. If your arches are medium or high and your shoes are flat and cushioned, the thicker Original Shoe Bubble can be preferable. In general, for an increased amount of relief for more serious foot pains, we recommend the Shoe Bubble original with the more substantial amount of support. The Pro-lite is thinner - about 2/3 the thickness. So, the Pro-lite is often better for preventative purposes and for those who's arches are lower and more sensitive to support.

User questions & answers
Question: | can this fit wide wiidth |
Answer: | Yes, I believe they should fit both wide and regular width fine. |
Question: | I’m confused as to which sole brand type to get, I am a size 9, what thickness type should I get |
Answer: | I wear a 11.5 to 12 in mens, this puts me right to the 12M 14W category identified on most sole foot beds. I would say for general to heavy use go sole softech as these would have better longevity over the "performance" model as those usually have the cork foot bed. as far as the thickness goes, it will all depend on what shoe your putting it in. IE if your looking for your running, exercise or light weight shoes of most types you would get the Thin version, the medium thickness beds are going to be good for your heavier shoes and out door type sneakers or light weight hiking boots. and finally the thick beds are going to be for work boots or heavy outdoor boots, but depending on your preference the thick sole's do well in hiking boots as well. I have all 3 versions of thickness and will swap them depending on what I am doing in that shoe for the day, I also have severely flat feet causing plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel syndrome and I have seen a drastic improvement in my feet since I started using these per my doctors recommendation of an "over the counter temporary fix". hope this helps. |
Question: | Could these be used in tennis shoes? I mean, would they stand up to that kind of stress |
Answer: | They could certainly stand up to the stress. I used a single pair for over 780 miles of running last year, and they still wear like new. I bought this thinner pair recently for a different style shoe. However, I don't think tennis is a game typically played with inserts. But I am neither and tennis pro nor a doctor. Good luck. |
Question: | My shoe size is 11 (44 european). For Solomon hiking boots, I tried 10.5 - 11 insole, then 11.5 -12. Am I crazy to try 12.5 - 13 insole |
Answer: | I'm a 12-13 US depending on the maker of the shoe. My best advice is to take your shoe to a store that sells the SOLE insole and see which size fits best. I tried trimming and then heating a pair of the insoles (according to manufacturer instructions) and, not only was this far inferior to the three pair I already use, I was unable to get compensated for the soles I heated. They curled up and deformed after I put them in my shoes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these take up a lot of volume in the shoe? Thank u |
Answer: | Trim the toe area. Lay orig insole underneath draw a line cut out line |
Question: | how high is the arch |
Answer: | This is a great question. I have very flat feet and I have tried the $$$$ podiatrist inserts and approx 20 different types of arch support insoles. My knees have become a chronic problem. When I wear "flat foot" inserts I have noticed that my ankles still rotate inward. About two years ago, I decided to order and test five different types of "high arch" inserts. Two of the "high arch" inserts lift my ankle into a normal position and I feel much less pain in my knees. The "flat foot" inserts that I have tried have a low arch and don't align my ankles, knees, and hips properly. |
Question: | I don't see the size for this listing. Can you please point me to the shoe size this accomodates |
Answer: | I have tride alot of inserts, even one's that cost 400.00+ and for some reason I like these. it might just be me but for the price it's worth a try, at lease for me it was. so for me yes all day support. |

User questions & answers
Question: | There are two numbers listed on the women’s side if the packaging with the figure of the women. There is a big 10 and 9.5. Which size is the insole |
Answer: | Hi Janine - Wendy from Tall Ridge here - Thank you for your inquiry! SOLE Footbeds only come in whole sizes but can be trimmed down for the half size below. These footbeds are size 10 but can be trimmed to be size 9.5. I hope that is helpful! |
Question: | Why are these insoles NOT returnable |
Answer: | Seller's policy |
Question: | I'm confused about the sizing, it says size 12 but not if its mens or woman. I'm looking for mens |
Answer: | The M before the numeric size stands for Mens, size 12. |
Question: | Do these have a metatarsal pad |
Answer: | Basically these insoles have a hard plastic footing with an arch and then a slightly thicker pad of the same thickness on top of that. I wish there was more cushion on my heal. I wouldn’t say there was any extra padding for the metatarsal. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this a mens size |
Answer: | I can only assume that the " -11" in the description means that you are looking at a "Men's size 11". |
Question: | I wear a men's 9.5 wide shoe. What size sole should I order |
Answer: | I wear 9.5 altar superior 4.0’s. I bought the 10’ and trimmed a tiny bit off the toes and the are great!! |
Question: | what size insert for men's size 10 tennis shoes (same size insert or size up and trim |
Answer: | Hello, Miguel from Tall Ridge here! The recommendation is to order the same size shoe insert. If you are a half size, order a full size up and trim to fit your shoe. I hope you find this helpful. |
Question: | How often should Sole Performance inserts be replaced |

User questions & answers
Question: | For half sizes, such an 11.5, should I order the 11 or higher size |
Answer: | I just received mine and they do run about 1/2" longer than the previous versions. I am a women's size 8.5 and I ordered the M7/W9 and will cut them to size. I fear the women's 7.5 to 8 will be too short for my shoes. I would recommend, if you are a half size, to order a half size up and trim them to size. These are great, by the way, if you have flat feet and suffer from plantar fasciitis. I put them in all my walking and hiking shoes and can walk for miles without any pain. |
Question: | Has anyone tried jogging with these |
Answer: | Sprinting, Jogging, Lifting, CrossFit - everything. I have a set for my work shoes and workout shoes. Can't say enough about how well these work. My orthopedist suggested them to me rather then getting custom $600 orthodics and couldn't be happier. |
Question: | are these very rigid or semi-rigid in the arch? Or does the arch completely give out when you put your full weight on them |
Answer: | I found them to be fairly rigid. I am about 175 lbs and they offer nice support for my high arches. If you were to put all your weight right on the arch portion I could see them flexing, but if you wear them the way they are intended it should give you support. |
Question: | What is the difference between this and active thick |
Answer: | I think they're the same insole. This is just the older version and Active Thick is the new version. These are great insoles. I've been using them for years in my running shoes. I run ultras and these are the best insoles that I've ever used - even better than the custom insoles that I had made specifically for running. Hope this helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would these fit my 10.5 curry |
Answer: | Don’t know what a curry 2 is but I have to say yes it would fit it. Why? Cause I have used these Sof Soles for about 8 years in a variety of shoes including tennis shoes and boots including work boots without any problems. Good luck!! |
Question: | what is the size of these in inches |
Answer: | 12 inches. |
Question: | Is this the medium Arch |
Answer: | Yes it is, very comfortable |
Question: | I am looking for a 1/4 inch thick insert . What is the thickness of this insert |
Answer: | I think these are about 3/16th of an inch thick. I returned mine because the gel on the bottom of these insoles started to break apart after 3 hours of tennis. They are probably okay for walking and normal use. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm a half size. Do you recommend buying the smaller or larger whole size insert |
Answer: | Hi Kona - Wendy from Tall Ridge here - Thank you for your inquiry! SOLE recommends purchasing a size larger and cutting it to fit the shoe you're putting it in. We also recommend that if you are going to heat mold the insoles that you do that first and cut to size afterward. I hope that is helpful! |
Question: | How do you mold these shoes |
Answer: | You can put them in a oven at the lowest or warm setting for a couple minutes and then immediately put them in your shoes and wear them for a while, say 20 minutes walking around, or you can just put them in your shoes, preferably on a warmer day and wear them the whole day. Your body heat will enable them to mold to your feet, this is what I did and they are working out great. |
Question: | Is this the one with the met pad |
Answer: | Hello, Miguel from Tall Ridge here! This product does not have the Met Pad. There is a Sole Active version with a Met Pad which you can find by searching for using the identifying ASIN "B07YCSCRNZ". I hope you find this helpful. |
Question: | I wear a women's 9.5 do I go up or down in size |
Answer: | I would go up the Women's size 9 is for 8.5-9. The Women's size 10 is for 9.5-10. |
