Question:	If i use this on myself and my clothes will I be endangering my two cats
Answer:	You should never use products containing DEET (or any other insect repellant intended for human use) directly ON cats (or dogs), but using it on yourself *around* your cats is not a problem.(And for that matter, even DEET isn't uniquely or specifically especially harmful to either species, but since they're so much smaller than we are, they can ingest far more on a per weight basis than we do when exposed to "human safe" concentrations and amounts of it.) But inhaling the infinitesimal amount of vapor they might be exposed to or ingesting some tiny amount if they lick your skin occasionally (since normal pets don't really do that much) would not be an issue. Since one applies it by spraying it on the hands and then wiping it onto one's skin, it *would* however be wise to wash your hands thoroughly before petting your cats or dogs after applying it to yourself.Also, fwiw, don't use it on your clothes. There are other insect repellants that work well on clothes, but DEET will damage some fibers and may stain or discolor some fabric dyes. (And before anyone starts freaking out that this means it's "horribly toxic", it doesn't. Of course some substances will damage both, but humans and fabric fibers are NOT the same things and what may or may not be harmful to one really isn't relevant to the other.)
Question:	Is this product most effective when applied directly to skin under makeup, or is it supposed to be applied on top of facial makeup
Answer:	I would NOT apply it under make-up. If I had to choose between the two, I would put it on over the make-up. HOWEVER...the make-up may affect the effectiveness of the product AND the product may affect the performance of the make-up as well. The better option is to apply the Deet to an article of clothing or wearable accessories on or near the area where you are using make-up. I usually use it on a hat, or sweat-band, shoulder area of clothing, etc. Be careful using it on clothing as it can stain the area sprayed on. Head and wrist bands, hats, light weight scarfs, socks, etc have always been my favorite ways of using the product. Hope my advice helps.

Answer:	The maximum for any carry on liquid amount is 3.4 oz, so a 4 oz. bottle would technically be too large. In checked bags, any aerosol sprayed on the body is allowed.

Answer:	It seemed to soak into skin and remain effective during rain. After swimming, or a shower you will need to reapply. Spent a week in Indonesia with 4 days in Jungle Villages and worked great. Got one mosquito bite the entire trip and that was because I didn't reapply after a shower, and we were outside for a little after.

Answer:	You would think so, however, chiggers are bettr treated with witch hazel, or a mild solution of water and clorox. You may have different results from either of them.

Answer:	I spent two weeks in the Amazon Jungle and didn't even make it all the way through one. A little goes a loonnnnggggg way. This stuff is very strong.
Question:	Can one use this to prevent ticks from getting to your scalp? One can’t spray it in the hair, right
Answer:	You shouldn't spray it directly in your hair or on your face; however, it is ok to spray it on your hands and rub it on your face and hair. (On a side note, I have used BUFF with insect shield to cover my hair when hiking. It works great; they are expensive, but worth the $$.) Not one bite using Deet 100 this summer hiking.
Question:	Does it dry quickly
Answer:	It doesn't dry...it's not really wet, it's greasy. You can rub it in though, but you have to rub in really well or it will stain your clothes, and rub off on whatever you touch. It does work for keeping the bugs off!

Question:	Can I use this on my dog safley
Answer:	The Scotts Wizz Handheld Spreader is designed to spread granular products. Unless the product to be spread is highly powdered or sticky it should spread fine. Several kinds of products are sold under the Preen label. I do not know which product you are interested in using, so I am speculating. The Preen Lawn care products should spread fine because they are designed for use with broadcast spreaders. The Garden Products are generally applied by hand using the sprinkle container, but both the Garden and the Organic Garden products are granular so they should both work unless they have gotten moist. One word of caution though, the recommended applications rates may need to be converted to dial setting by experiment.
Question:	Does the 24oz bottle permethrin come with a sprayer
Answer:	does not work well with sand like granules that r heavier than most. clogs gears and wears batteries down fast
Question:	I thought this thing is odorless. However, I just bought it and the bag it came in has strong odor. Is it possible
Answer:	The problem with NiMH rechargeables is that they are at most 1.2V each. Alkalines are 1.5V each, so trying to use NiMH will only give the device 5V (1.2V x 4) instead of 6V (1.5V x 4). Some devices won't operate at 5V, thinking that the alkalines batteries (really NiMH) are dead. There are several lithium AA batteries available on Amazon that should directly work. They are the type that have micro-usb charge ports on the side of them, and present regulated 1.5V (like alkaline) at their terminals, rather than the typical 3.2-3.6V of unmodified lithium cells. They have a decent capacity, and should easily last a spreading session on an average yard. I use these extensively in devices that take AA alkalines, with excellent results. They are pricey, but save money and waste in the long run. You probably already own the necessary charging infrastructure (a micro-usb cable and a wall-wart usb charger). You can also try to use two 3.2V lithium unmodified rechargeables along with two AA "dummy" cells. This will give 6.4V to the spreader instead of 6.0V from alkalines. I've used this method successfully in a trail camera that takes 8 AA batteries. I use four 3.2V rechargeable lithiums and four dummy AA cells. You will need to buy a charger for these, though. Amazon sells four packs of these batteries, bundled with a cheap charger.
Question:	Is it safe to spray on skin
Answer:	Unfortunately no the rock salt is just too heavy and large for it even at the 9 max opening setting and with fresh batteries it struggles and stops clogs up, maybe if you can find a finer ground rock salt possibly but the little motor seems underpowered it is not heavy duty, ended up using it as a big scoop and shaking it to spread the rock salt. It can handle lightweight things like grass seed very well and other small pellet fertilizers like milorganite. Don't think it would be good for any powders only small pellets. I'd skip this and look into buying a walk behind/push broadcast spreader for spreading rock salt.
