It can definitely be mounted inside a cabinet door as long as your cabinet door is thick enough. just buy wood screws short enough that they don't screw through your door, 3/8" would probably work for a 1/2" thick door. Even if it's a door with a think middle you could probably find a way to mount a nice wood block onto the door then fasten the holder onto it. Ask the handy person in your life to help, everybody should have one (hopefully)

I was also stumped by this at first. The trick is to push the little locking tab near the bottom while twisting the unit clockwise from the top. It will only turn about 1/4 turn. In this position the adjustment is unlocked and you can freely (with a little effort) pull it up or push it down. Once you get the top of the unit approximately even with the top of the tank, turn it clockwise 1/4 turn to lock it back in place.

To install this seal you need to empty the water from the tank. Then you have to take the flush handle off so that you can remove the flush valve after removing the small water tube along with the flush valve stop. To do this, pull the small fill tube out of the center of the flush valve stop. Now unscrew the flush valve stop, once the valve stop is removed you can now pull the flush valve off to gain access to this seal. Now you can remove the old seal and put the new one on. Make sure when you remove the old seal, you feel the small groove/recess that the seal sits in...you'll need to put the new one back in this small groove so that it seals correctly. Then put the flush valve back on and the handle...then screw the stop back on, reconnect the water fill tube...that's it.
