Material: Affordable menstrual cups are typically made from medical-grade silicone, rubber, or elastomer. While they may not be made from the premium, high-end materials of more expensive brands, they are safe for use and can last for several years with proper care.
Size: Menstrual cups come in various sizes, including small, medium, and large, to accommodate different levels of flow and cervix heights. Choosing the right size is crucial for comfort and effectiveness.
Ease of Use: Cheap menstrual cups are designed for ease of insertion and removal. Some may have different features like textured grips or unique shapes to make them easier to handle.
Capacity: Consider the capacity of the cup in milliliters (ml) to match your specific flow needs. Cups typically come in different capacities, so choose one that suits your flow without needing frequent emptying.
Stem Design: The stem of the menstrual cup helps with removal. Some cups have longer stems that can be trimmed to fit your comfort. Ensure the stem design suits your preferences.
Maintenance: Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for all menstrual cups. Rinse them thoroughly between uses and sterilize them as recommended by the manufacturer.
Brand Reputation: While you're looking for a cheap menstrual cup, it's still essential to consider the reputation of the brand. Reputable brands may offer more affordable options without compromising on quality.
Reviews: Reading customer reviews can provide insights into the comfort and effectiveness of a particular menstrual cup. Look for feedback from users with similar needs and experiences.
Packaging: Some affordable menstrual cups may come in minimalistic packaging to reduce costs. This does not necessarily reflect the quality of the cup itself.
Health Considerations: Menstrual cups are generally safe to use, but it's crucial to follow proper hygiene practices and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or underlying health conditions.
Affordable menstrual cups offer a sustainable and cost-effective solution for managing menstruation. While they may not have all the additional features and premium materials of more expensive options, they can still provide comfort, convenience, and eco-friendliness. Question: | When will you be able to sell to mexico? we have very little options there. where can i find these in my country? do you know other sellers |
Answer: | We are only able to wholesale within the US right now so sadly no stores/sellers in Mexico yet. We are working to be able to sale internationally, but sadly this takes time. Thanks for your interest in our cups! |
Question: | how to choose the size |
Answer: | Many use both cups, the regular on their heavier days, and the small on their lighter days so we offer a two-pack that has both sizes. If looking to purchase a single cup there are many factors that may help you decide: Small Saalt Cup - 2-3 tampon capacity - light flow - low cervix - beginner cup user - 25 mL Regular Saalt Cup - 3-4 tampon capacity - heavy flow - high cervix - cup users - 30 mL |
Question: | I'm over 30 but only had a C-section not a vaginal birth, I tend to have lighter periods. What recommendation do you have for sizing |
Answer: | You will likely be able to comfortably use either Saalt cup size with the right tips. Many use the small for light to normal days and the regular for heavier flow days. This is why we also sell our cups as a 2-pack. Sizing is not an exact science as we all have unique anatomies, but there are more factors than just childbirth (C-section or not) and age. For example, if you have a low cervix and/or strong pelvic and vaginal muscles the small may work best for you. Likewise, if you have a high cervix and/or very heavy flows the regular may work best for you. These are just the opposite ends of the spectrum as again many can use both sizes. Buy in confidence knowing if after 2-3 cycles you aren’t happy with your cup we will refund your total. You may always contact us for help and questions as well. Thanks! |
Question: | I bought a regular size cup from saalt it has good seal but still leak, and I have issue with weak urine stream when using this. help please |
Answer: | When your cup is inserted correctly, you shouldn’t experience any discomfort or leaking. First check the position. Saalt Cup sits lower in the vagina than a tampon. If it is too high or too close to the cervix, it can leak or cause discomfort. The current positioning you're using may be applying pressure to your urethra causing the weak urine stream and be contributing to the leaking. Insert the cup at an angle to match the natural slant of your vaginal canal. For many women this will be horizontally towards your tailbone vs straight up. Leaking can also be caused by a poor suction seal. Make sure the four air holes are not clogged and that the cup has fully opened. Swirl a finger around the base of the cup to check for any folds or indentations. Pinch the base of the cup and rotate it to make sure it is opened completely. If leaking persists let us know and we'll offer additional tips. Most importantly keep trying small adjustments, everyone is different. |

Question: | does the size only matter in terms of flow or if you are over 30 will a small fall out and a large is needed |
Answer: | Even though age could play a role when selecting your cup, at LENA we believe that there are a couple of more important factors. Due to LENA cups' ergonomic design, most women can successfully use either size but choose one over the other depending on their flow, cervix height (can your vagina support the length of LENA Large,) and general physique. If you your flow is light to normal we generally recommend LENA Small, regardless of age. Our small cup is also great for women with lower cervixes and teenagers due to its compact size, gentler rim and high collection capacity. We recommend LENA Large for women of all age with normal to heavy flow. Our large cup is very comfortable and also has a soft rim which offers an easy and pain-free insertion. If you are over 30 but have a light flow, you can successfully use LENA Small. |
Question: | Do you feel the cup while wearing it |
Answer: | As I have post on another question... On my very first try of this product (and very first time EVER using a cup excluding the nightmare softcup trial) I danced with my toddler, went to physical therapy (movement like yoga) went swimming afterward. I made sure to dive, flip under the water and even walked on my hands in the pool my legs straight up in the air and I did this vigorously and repeatedly just to test the Lena cup! Then I took a nap on the sofa. Later after 8 hrs of total use I removed the cup. There was no leak and no mess with removal. plus it was only about half full. So I cleansed it reinserted it using the 7 fold and slept in it. I am a very uneasy sleeper. meaning I turn all over the place. I turn constantly from my back to either one of my sides and I almost always turn onto my stomach a least twice a night... This said I never felt it and Im wearing now and I dont even notice it. And I have a low cervix so its not too high up in me either. Its makes you feel natural as if you arent even on your period.I have to add this is my 2nd day trying this product I have never used a cup besides one day trial of instead softcups (that you can feel and the overall experience was a nightmare) With Lena I only felt it once when I first was trying to figure out how to insert it. It took me about ten times of removing and inserting to feel I definitely had a feel for what to do but looking back I honestly think I had it right by the 2nd or 3rd time. Self doubting myself was what made me keeping trying by the 8th try I put it too far up for my body and that was the only time I "felt" it. I wasnt painful but just a little uncomfortable with a slight bit of uneasy pressure. But it was a good thing it made me feel uneasy. It actually boosted my confidence that I had been doing it correctly that whole time before. That one time of doing it wrong was what I needed to let me know for sure how it needs to be done correctly and what not to do. I realize there was no need to shove it as far as I could up inside me lol. Then I practiced a 9th time and on the 10th I was more than confident I had it right. |
Question: | How would I know which size cup to buy |
Answer: | Most women can wear either LENA cup and choose one size over the other primarily based on their blood flow amount, cervix height and general physique. Age and birthing history could play a role as well.Generally, women with light / normal flow choose LENA Small and women with normal / heavy flow choose LENA Large. We recommend first-time cup users to start with LENA Small. Our small cup is also ideal for young women and teenagers. LENA Small works great for women with low / medium cervix height, while women with high cervix can wear either size LENA cups. |
Question: | Is there a reason the holes are angled or is it just aesthetics |
Answer: | To add to what others have said, for some reason the angled holes are so much easier to clean than straight holes. |
