Answer:	I ordered my bottle of Thera Tears on 1/31/14. The expiration date on the bottle is 11/2015. So it looks like the shelf life is close to 2 years.

Answer:	This whole "preservative free" business is very strange. I have been purchasing the "old" packaging for several years now and purchased it specifically because it was PRESERVATIVE FREE as recommended by my Ophthalmologist. Now the new packaging doesn't say Preservative Free on he front of the package but if you take time to look all over the outer box it says that it is PRESERVATIVE FREE IN THE EYE. What does THAT mean. So I called the number on the package and was told by the person who answered the phone that it is the same formula but it can't be preservative free in the bottle because you are always taking the lid on and off the bottle. So it is preservative free as it hits the eye. Figure that out. I can't. The "old" bottle which is what they say is the same formula doesn't say anything about not being preservative free as it hits the eye. So I went to the website where it says, "NOW you can get preservative free in a bottle." WHAT? I thought it was the same formula. Was it not preservative free before, but just said so on the package? What they are claiming now is that the only TRUE Preservative Free eye drops are in the individual vials which of course you can purchase. I used to buy those before they changed the vials so that now you cannot put the top back on if you don't use the entire amount. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but this whole thing sounds very "fishy" to me. I haven't opened the new box I just received from Amazon and don't think I will do that until I get an answer from my Ophthalmologist to see if she can shed any light on this situation.

Answer:	They do blur my vision for a few (2-3 ) minutes. I usually relax with my head tilted back to really get the benefit from the drop because the drop relieves the burning immediately to my irritated dry eye.

Answer:	Yes, but as the fifth Inactive Ingredients. Active Ingredients, eye lubricants, are carboxymethylcellulous sodium, glycerin and polysorbate. BF has severely dry eyes and so far Retaine MGD has proven to be her go to drops. Nano Tears work but are only single use.
Question:	are they preservative free
Answer:	Yes they are preservative free, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. The manufacturer says you should only open a vial, use 1-2 drops per eye and then DISCARD the vial and all remaining lubricant. The reason is that because there is no preservative, any bacteria that gets into the opened vial will multiply like crazy and within a short period of time could become enough bacteria to create an eye infection after repeated use of a vial. These drops are far better than most others on the OTC market, but they are very expensive, especially if you need to use more than one vial a day for blepharitis, etc. At $24 a box (retail price) you are purchasing just 1/5 of an ounce (!) of lubricant in 30 delivery vials — that would be a bit more than a teaspoonful of lubricant total.

Answer:	Flaxseed oil is considered an inactive ingredient in the US so is listed elsewhere on the carton. In the US, some eyedrop ingredients are considered as "active" based on FDA Monograph rules. Many useful and protective ingredients are included in eyedrops, but those not classified as "active" will be listed separately on the carton.

Answer:	No where on the box does it ever mention 'contacts' - it says good to use if you've had Lasix. However, the box says you can call 1-800-433-8871 (Refresh brand) for any Questions or Comments.

Answer:	They don't want you to do that because the solution is sterile, then not after you use it once. On the other hand, I manage to get 4-5 drops out of each container over the period of a day. Just push the tip back on, rotating slightly. Keep it upright, as it will leak if horizontal or upside down. After several months, no problems at all, and lots of money saved.

One must pull the lower eyelid down and squeeze a tiny bit out of the tube and run it along the inside of one's wet eyelid. Sometimes it stays and sometimes it doesn't go on. Also without eyeglasses it can prove to be hard to see to apply the ointment. However, if everything has gone according to plan it does stay through the night. In the morning, if one has dry eyes, the ointment allows one to open one's eyelids without the lid scraping over a dry eye. My alternative to the ointment is to just carry a bottle of Refresh tears in my tee shirt pocket, apply a drop onto each eyelid, open my eyelid slowly and allow the Tears to lubricate the eye. One must always remember do not open the eyelid before applying Tears.

Answer:	I don't know that I've tried the xp variety. I have tried 2 or 3 others though. And this one (Maximum Hydration) just seems to make my eyes feel better immediately. The formulas are definitely a bit different.

Answer:	If you're talking about the daily drops that come in the one-dose vials, no they cannot be closed and re-used. And shouldn't be re-used if left open somehow. Too easy for the liquid to become contaminated and no way should you put that in your eyes. They're inexpensive enough to use what you need from one vial and toss the rest.

Answer:	XP SOOTHE has glycerin in it . It’s a milky liquid probably meant for nighttime use , it made my vision blurry. Regular SOOTHE is good for daytime use.

Answer:	Yes. I am the same way, & the Oasis drops helped immeasurably!
Question:	can these be used with contact lenses in place
Answer:	Yes, I use Tears Plus 4x a day and I wear contact lenses. Vision is a little blurry for a minute, then it clears up just fine.
Question:	How many individual doses in each box
Answer:	30 sterile single use containers. You can choose to use that though out the day but I have found that I don't get more than about 2 doses per container.
Question:	What is the difference between Tears Plus and Tears
Answer:	Peach Z is incorrect, both drops are preservative free. Tears plus has glycerin in them that makes them a little thicker and they coat the eyes for a longer period of time. My dry eyes are mild to moderate, I use regular Oasis Tears.

Question:	shelf life
Answer:	Unopened shelf life is listed on box--usually 2 years. Once I remove the tip from a vial, I use 2 drops in each eye and toss the vial rather than saving for a later use and risk contaminating the tip/eye.
Question:	Is this product made in the USA
Answer:	Doesn't say on the box but from their website appears to be a Swiss company with a US corporate presence. The only homeopathic line native to the US I've come across is Hylands.
Question:	Is this similar to the systane preservative free eye drops
Answer:	No. Similasan products are homeopathic formulations -- which, BTW, is not synonymous with H20. Systane and its competition on your drugstore's shelf would be classed as allopathic medication. You'll need to do some reading on the difference in approach and ingredients per the labels to make you own judgement on how to pursue relief; and, if you agree with seeseejay. . However, neither is going to be a risk (unless you stick your self in the eye with the applicator, as seems to have been a problem for one commentator). What ultimately works for you is going to depend on the finite specifics of the root cause of your discomfort. I can tell you that some homeopathic remedies work great for me -- some do not. Answer:	0.4 ml / .014 oz. -- More to the point, I can get 2-3 drops in each eye; so, there's the benefit of the drops plus a bit of a wash for those gritty days.
