And they do stay in all night if you insert them according to the directions on the package (pull ear up and back, roll the plug tightly and insert). I don't know what I'd do without these, they are a lifesaver as far as my sleep! |

If you look at the base (you can see it in the pictures of the product on Amazon), you will see a four-pronged opening that has a hole that penetrates into the center of the plug. This hollow helps the foam compress better when you roll it in your fingers before fitting into your ear. So it is smaller and thinner than the other size and easier to insert. I have tried the extra-soft Mack’s brand, plus two other storebrands. This is the only earplug that doesn’t hurt when I use it. It doesn’t cut the sound 100% for me, maybe close to 90%, but more than enough to get good sleep. |

INSERT
Reach around your head with opposite hand to pull ear outward and upward, then insert compressed ear plug well into ear canal.
CHECK FIT
Check fit after ear plug expands in ear. Touch ear plug. You should feel only the end of ear plug. Listen to steady loud noise with ear plugs in both ears. Cover ears with tightly cupped hands. Noise should sound about the same whether or not ears are covered.
IMPROPER FIT
If you feel most of ear plug outside the ear canal, remove ear plug and repeat fitting. If you cannot obtain a good fit, try a different size or type of hearing protector.
