Maybe you purchased in the middle of summer and the test strip were exposed to high temperatures, I assume your hands were clean with soap and water and not a hand sanitizer. Currently the meter is basically free. I buy the kit for the 100 test strips and two spare batteries, extra lancing device and lancets

Warm Tips to Get an Accurate Testing Result:

1. Before blood collection, wash your hands with warm water or neutral soap and rub the finger for blood collection repeatedly until the blood volume is rich.

2. You could disinfect finger abdomen with 75% alcohol, collect blood after alcohol evaporated.

3. Before each test, make sure that the surface of strip is free from moisture or other contamination, and avoid touching the blood sampling area of the strip.

4. Close the cap of the vial immediately after taking out the strip. It is best to use the strip within 3 minutes of taking it out.

5. After the blood drop is formed, wipe off the first drop, collect the subsequent one to test.

6. Make sure enough blood is collected at one time, don't add blood for a second time.

7. If it didn't bleed after pricking your finger, or the blood is insufficient, it is best to hang your hand naturally and wait for 5 seconds. If necessary, squeeze from the center of the palm to the fingertips. Do not directly squeeze the fingertips. Or adjust the depth of the lancing device to collect blood again.

8. Take turns to collect blood from different fingers. Blood collection on the ventral side of the finger is not only less painful, but also adequate.

How to measure your diabetes monitor correctly

Wash and dry your hands before starting

1.Washing with warm soapy water can effectively prevent infection and remove sugary impurities on the fingers that affect the accuracy of the results.

2.Select the position of the fingertip filled with blood and wipe the puncture site for about 20 seconds. This way bleeding is easier and pain is less.

3. Clean the puncture site using cotton moistened with 70% alcohol and let it air dry

Answer:	This glucose meter is for humans ONLY. To accurately measure blood glucose for animals (dogs and cats) an animal glucose meter must be used. Here’s why. Meters for humans do not deliver accurate glucose readings for pets because of differences between the “distribution of glucose in the blood” in humans vs animals. That’s key to remember. Humans: 58% of glucose is located in plasma and 42% of the glucose in the red blood cells. Dogs: 87.5% of the glucose is located in plasma and 12.5% of the glucose in the red blood cells Cats: 93% of the glucose is located in plasma and only 7% of the glucose in the red blood cells. As you can see, the “distribution of glucose in the blood” in humans and in animals is very different. There is also a variation between the SIZE of the red blood cells between humans and animals. Even more, humans and pets have a different PCV (packed cell volume) – humans: 37-50%, dog: 37-55%, cat: 24-45%, meaning that the number of red blood cells differs greatly. Meters for humans are also calibrated only for human plasma. Meters made for cats and dogs are calibrated only for animal plasma. Power On & Connect Device

Power On: Press and hold the power button located on the right side of the device for 3 seconds. The blue light on the glucometer will flash indicating it's on.

Connect: Turn your phone's Bluetooth on, search for 'BG5 XXX' and connect. The device is paired once the Bluetooth light stops blinking on the glucose meter. Launch the app to connect the meter to the app. The Bluetooth symbol will flash and remain lit on the meter.
