I have learned not to refrigerate nutella, if it gets too stiff the oil separates from it and what remains is a very hardened cocoa chocolate blend. I keep mine at room temperature it's always easy to spread the oils do not separate and the cocoa does not harden at the bottom of the jar. We use Nutella on Ritz crackers on ice cream smeared on banana we dip apple slices into it, and my grandchildren like it on their french fries LOL I hope I was able to answer your question. Fiber 5g maltitol 6 gr glycerin 4 g and uncooked cornstarch 5 g convert slowly and have minimal impact on blood sugar." But the nutrition facts has 21 g total carbs, dietary fiber 5 g, sugars ZERO g, and maltitol 6 g. As a diabetic, I have found they do NOT increase my blood sugar significantly but I use 10 grams to count carbs (total 21 - 5 fiber - 6 maltitol = 10 net carbs). I use them to tide my over between 3 pm and dinner time, and have had not glucose spikes with them. They are gluten free and have 11 grams of protein. The label clearly states these are "for use under medical supervision" and gives the website and customer service number as 1-800-887-2919. If you are diabetic, I would suggest getting one at the drugstore, and let your doctor see the label. I showed the labels to my doctor and she is thrilled I found these. They taste better than some of the Atkins crappy bars. |
