I too am sulfite sensitive, but decided small portions for me on non-consecutive days, and having food for the rest of my family was more important. It's rumored taking B-12 may reduce or eliminate a reaction. Almost all dried potatoes on the market have sulfites. I buy Honest Earth mashed potatoes and rotate my stock to always have a boxful on hand in addition to these potato slices. So you're getting 600 calories per meal, in this case, which is about right. One of the things I like about MH is that they are STARTING to come around to using "meal" rather than "serving". Needless to say a MH meal is or will be too much for some people and too little for others. However, other emergency meal vendors are sticking to "serving" when describing their quantities. That, as you have observed is SERIOUSLY confusing. With MH it's "one and done". With their cans it's a bit different but workable. With other vendors it's multiple pouches and leftovers. Especially Wise. Another thing is comparing the costs between pouches (meals) and cans (serving). MOST of the time you will find pouches are cheaper than cans per serving. That is subject to change, so check ALL THE TIME! |

| Answer: | I Just weighed the the bucket in its original shipping packaging (just a perfect size box) and it came to 10.2 lbs altogether. The 7lbs 5 oz is probably just the total of the food pouches. With the plastic container, it came to 10lbs even. So no Idea where the 40lbs is coming from. Probably a way to try to justify the enormous shipping expense. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | If for one, I would guess 7 to 10 days eating 2 meals a day. Naturally you would want a variety at each meal which is why it may not last as long as you think. If you only prepared one packed and at that alone 2 or 3 times a day then you would probably make 10 days but if you prepare say two items a day for variety then you would possibly make 7 or 8 days.
