Flavor and Texture: Dried green peas have a mild, earthy flavor and a slightly grainy texture when cooked. Their flavor can be enhanced with seasonings and spices, making them adaptable to various recipes.
Storage: Proper storage is essential to maintain the quality of dried green peas. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture and pests from affecting them.When stored correctly, dried green peas can have a long shelf life.
Protein and Fiber: Dried green peas are a good source of both protein and fiber. This combination makes them filling and can help support feelings of fullness and satiety in meals.

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these split or whole |
Answer: | Hi There, Our Beams contain 80% protein. If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call at 866-437-9729, or send us an e-mail at [email protected]. We're happy to help! |
Question: | where are these peas grown |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your question! You will notice that the cod skin is a bit thinner and crispier than the wolffish skin. The wolffish is more meaty with thicker skin, which is why the source of the fish affects the texture of the Ocean Chews a bit. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team with any further questions or concerns at [email protected] or 866-437-9729. All the best, The Honest Kitchen Customer Service Team |
Question: | Are these frozen? Can these be used for sprouting |
Answer: | My Aussies finish their beams within minutes of getting them. These are not "long lasting" treats/chewing options. For "chewing enjoyment", stick with the bully sticks. |
Question: | Can these be used for sprouting |
Answer: | They are not a "hard" chew but a 3.5 # Maltese might find these long lasting. My dogs range in size from 15#s - 45#s. I cut the beams into quarters for my small guy & he is still satisfied with his chew time. Truth be told, they have tried swallowing larger pieces, but they easily "cough it up" and finish chewing. |

What do we know About Green Split Peas?
Split peas are naturally dry peas (green, yellow, or red) that have been split. Therefore, they don't require soaking and cook much quicker than whole peas. People are much more used to green split peas, which are bright green due to chlorophyll and possess a more robust taste than yellow split peas.
Also, green split peas are a cold-resistant, self-pollinating plant. If damage does happen and the central shoot is killed, brand-new shoots will arise from nodes beneath the soil surface.
The dry pea pods are approximately three inches long and hold four to nine seeds, with a green, yellow, or cream-colored seed coat. By the time some pea varieties approach maturity, the plant becomes non-reproductive and weak vine.

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is it grown |
Answer: | Hi There, Our flax is ground to order, and the machinery used is a slicing mechanism. This method allows the flax to be broken down, but not heated up (which can create rancidity in the oils). This slicing method also helps to preserve the essential fatty acids! We hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call at 866-437-9729, or send us an email at [email protected]. We're happy to help! :) |

Question: | Where Is It Made |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. They are grown and packaged in the USA. |
Question: | Are These Capable Of Sprouting |
Answer: | Hi There, Thank you for your question! Garlic is actually only harmful in incredibly large amounts. In small amounts, it offers many health benefits. Many holistic vets and nutritionists include a small amount of garlic in their homemade recipes. The amount of garlic that we include in some of our foods (just 0.25%), is not enough to be harmful even to the smallest of dogs. Garlic helps the immune system fight infections and disease as it strengthens the digestion and stimulates the intestinal tract. Garlic can have a powerful antioxidant effect. It helps the ability of white blood cells to fight infections by stimulating other immune cells. It also has anti-fungal and antibiotic properties. Garlic has also been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce the buildup of plaque, regulate blood sugar, prevent blood clots, reduce yeast infections and help prevent cancer. Its strongest affinities are for the liver, blood, cardiovascular system, and immune system. Garlic contains protein, fiber, potassium, phosphorous, calcium, sodium, vitamin A, thiamine, niacin, taurine, zinc, riboflavin, and many other nutritive compounds. We do have several recipes in our line that are made with a very small quantity of garlic, as well as a selection of recipes that are garlic-free. Please feel free to reach out to us, directly, if you have any questions, or would like additional information. You can contact us at 866-437-9729, or send us an e-mail at [email protected]. User questions & answers
Question: | Which year of those peas |
Answer: | Hi there, Good question, especially with the store shelves being stripped of every single bean. It is said the shelf life is 1 to 2 years. I personally have found they last about a year. After that, they get so hard and dry they just won’t cook. Ive tried to cook old beans myself and after12 hours and they were still like rocks. I didn’t add salt because that can also cause beans not to cook. So I would recommend using them within a year. I cook a large pot full when they are fresh and then freeze them. You could probably can the cooked beans too, I haven’t tried that yet, you probably need a pressure canner, they are likely considered a low acid food. Hope that helped. |
Question: | Can I planet garden with this seeds |
Answer: | USA |

How to Sprout Whole Green Peas at Home:
- Yields approximately 3 Cups (1/2 lb.) of Sprouts. Prep 3 Tablespoons of peas, then transfer into a bowl or into your Sprouter. Add 2-3 times as much cool (60°-70°) water. Mix peas up to assure even water contact for all;
- Allow peas to soak for 6-12 hours. Empty the peas into your Sprouter (if necessary). Drain off the soak water. Rinse thoroughly with cool (60°-70°) water. Drain thoroughly! Set your Sprouter anywhere out of direct sunlight and at room temperature (70° is optimal) between Rinses. Ensure sufficient air-circulation is provided;
- Always be sure to Drain very thoroughly. The most common cause of inferior sprouts is inadequate drainage. Rinse and Drain again every 8-12 hours for 3 days;
