Question: Any info on what color of grape was used? Crimson, black, dark blue, yellow, white/green, orange, or pink, etc

Giuseppe Giusti Gran Deposito Aceto Balsamico Di Modena Aged Artisan Italian Balsamic Wine Vinegar, 8.45 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

Giuseppe Giusti

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price
  • ANCIENT PROCESSES - Made from the must of cooked sundried grapes and aged wine vinegar, this gourmet balsamic vinegar ages in barrels. Giuseppe Giusti vinegars are made with a strict process that’s been perfected over time. Much like wine, sweet balsamic vinegar is specific to one region in the world where the grapes are just right. Traditional Italian balsamic comes from either Modena or Reggio Emilia. Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is produced from grape varieties Lambrusco or Trebbiano.
  • AGED TO PERFECTION - Our balsamic wine vinegar is aged to perfection in special barrels handed down for generations of the Giusti family. The barrels are made of different types of wood for different steps of the process so the vinegar will take on the complex flavors of the casks. After a minimum of 12 years, the vinegar can be considered ready for consumption. Only if the vinegar reaches a certain standard of taste can it be bottled and sealed.
  • FLAVORFUL BALSAMIC VINEGAR - The flavor profile of this Gran Deposito Balsamic Vinegar brings notes of plum jam, red fruit, honey and vanilla. This gourmet balsamic brings a deep brown color and glossy velvety smooth texture. Complex, aromatic, and acidic undertones make this balsamic wine vinegar from Italy a great pairing with fresh pasta such as ravioli, beef, soft cheese, or fresh fruit.
  • TRULY CLASSIC TASTE - Giusti was founded in 1605 and is the longest running vinegar producer in the world. Giusti is dedicated to constantly improving its attention to the environment, adopting the most modern, best practices to reduce the environmental impact for greater sustainable agriculture.
  • CAREFULLY BOTTLED - Each custom Italian vinegar glass bottle is crafted from an old favorite recipe of Riccardo Giusti and stored in barrels to preserve a complexity of unique flavors. Our promise to you is that each bottle of Giusti, from our premium balsamic vinegars to our variety of flavorful glazes and condiments, contains only the finest quality of ingredients to perfectly complement all of your favorite recipes.

User questions & answers

Question: What are the ingredients
Answer: Cooked grape must and wine vinegar. It has a sweet taste but no sugar is added; the grapes themselves are the sweetness, I think. You will love this balsamic vinegar and will want to keep it on the table to use on many things. I have found that if I keep it in a dark place, away from the heat, I forget about it, so it stays on my marble pastry slab to keep it cool in our southern climate.
Question: does this need refrigeration
Answer: I do not refrigerate mine. I have had several bottles, and have never refrigerated them. It is the best Balsamic!
Question: can anybody compare this to other 18 year aged balsamics? A lot of the young stuff is barely dense
Answer: This is not aged18 years, but is good. You'll have to try a few pricer brands or go to a DOP to get much better, althugh tastes vary of course. Botte Piccola is similar but less tangy, Mussini Reserva di Famiglia is a step up to 14 years ages but is only 100 ml, not 250. Mia Bella is not in the same class, it's more food-grade. Hope this helps.
Question: Why do i not see the mandatory accredidation "aceto balsamico tradizionale di modena" printed on the label if it is the real thing
Answer: Perhaps you are referring to the DOP accreditation (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) rather than the words in your question. DOP certified balsamic vinegar production is subject to oversight be the DOP consortium. The balsamic can only contain grape must and nothing else - no wine vinegar, no sugar, no caramel coloring ... nothing. It has to be aged for a minimum of 12 years, and comes in a specifically shaped bottle which the produce has to buy from the consortium. It will also cost you 2-3x more than this depending on the source. I have a couple of bottles of the DOP and it is truly amazing balsamic, but at about $100 for a small 3.5 ounce bottle I use it sparingly and probably wouldn't put it on a salad. I've not tried this particular balsamic, but from the reviews, it looks like a good balsamic for salads and many other uses.

Flavorful and Powerful Health Benefits

Giuseppe Giusti Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale is well known for its deep, rich, and complex flavors. Thanks to its grape ingredients and aging process, our balsamic vinegar is packed with a range of health benefits. Truly pure balsamic vinegar can contribute to weight loss, low cholesterol, and even a glowing complexion. Add this Aceto Balsamico as a healthy finishing touch to your gourmet dishes.

Made from Sweet, Sundried Grapes

which create an aroma and flavor of plum jam and red fruits intertwined with hints of honey and vanilla. This dense and sweet balsamic is perfect for savory or sweet dishes.

IGP Certified

IGP certification is a seal of approval developed by vintners of Modena and Reggio Emilia to establish higher quality standards for balsamic vinegars. Products certified under IGP are more rigorously tested, supervised, and ultimately more pure. All Giuseppe Giusti vinegars are IGP certified.

Versatile and Unique Flavor

Due to the versatility of balsamic vinegar, it has earned a place in the kitchen of innovative chefs and the table of home cooks worldwide. Balsamic vinegars were traditionally served with cheese and meat but can be paired with nearly any dish, from savory to sweet, and foodies are enjoying new creative uses for it every day.

More Than Just Balsamic Vinegar

Over the years, we have added additional condiments to our repertoire. Glazes that are thick, rich reductions of our balsamic vinegars are created to enhance your meals. White and apple vinegars that are fresh and well-balanced, and even infused balsamic vinegars with a touch of truffle, fig, or raspberry.

Crafted in Modena, Italy Since 1605

Giuseppe Giusti was founded in 1605 in Modena, Italy and is the longest running and most prestigious vinegar producer worldwide. Giusti is dedicated to constantly improving its attention to the environment and adopts the best practices in order to reduce the environmental impact for greater sustainable agriculture. Today, the 17th generation of the Giusti family continues the tradition of creating beautiful balsamic vinegar.

Time-Honored Process

Grapes for Giusti’s balsamic vinegars are carefully selected for their high quality and delicate concentration of sugars and acidity, usually Lambrusco and Trebbiano varieties from the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia in beautiful Northern Italy. The grapes are then pressed and the fresh juice is boiled down to a thick, sweet syrup. The syrup then ages in a wooden cask along with the “Mother” vinegar.

Aged in Centuries Old Casks

The heart of our production is a collection of 600 casks dating back to the 1600s, from where the purest extractions that create the unmistakable aroma of our balsamic vinegars are collected. Casks provide an intensity of wood essences and aromas to vinegars, and the older the cask, the more complex the vinegar. Each vinegar is aged to perfection and IGP certified to ensure authenticity.

User questions & answers

Question: How long has this product been aged before bottling
Answer: In Italy, the only balsamic that can state age is a DOP product. These run at a minimum of 12 years and require the approval of the Consortium there. In keeping with these rules, we are not able to state the specific number of years aged. I can, however, give you some extra info on the pre-bottling aging process. This balsamic is a Balsamic Vinegar of Modena - balsamic that is aged in wooden casks. This balsamic has been aged in Oak barrels with the minimum eighty percent concentrated grape must and aged red wine vinegar. With this high quantity of grape must, you'll find a balsamic that is wonderfully sweet (no added sugars) and with a great thickness. This 16 fl oz balsamic is a great mix of quantity and quality such that you have a deep viscosity that will work well for a salad and cling right on to meats, cheeses, bread and more. If you are in the hunt for a DOP certified balsamic, look for a 3.4 oz bottle with the specific certification from the Italian consortium. This is the one size they'll come in and typically range around $150-250 per 3.4 oz bottle. If you're thinking of a balsamic for every day and weekly use, we'd be happy if you gave our product a go. If you are not completely satisfied, we are happy to help you.
Question: is this contain alcohol
Answer: No. There is no alcohol in Blazing Bella Balsamic (Barrel aged traditional, 250mg). I have many of their balsamic vinegars and they are all delicious. I wouldn't even consider purchasing another brand of balsamic vinegar. Blazing Bella is the best!!! None of their balsamic vinegars have any alcohol.
Question: What are the ingredients
Answer: For the traditional: 100% Balsamic Vinegar. Scroll through product images to see Nutrition Facts - at the bottom of that image, the ingredients are listed.
Question: does the 8.5 oz sampler come with a pourer
Answer: Yes, each 8.5 fl oz bottle comes with a built-in plastic pourer.

User questions & answers

Question: Does anyone know how many ounce is this bottle
Answer: Hi Rebecca! There are 8.5 fluid ounces in each bottle.
Question: What is the must percentage of this product? and, specifically which grapes are used in its production? trebbiano and lambrusco or something else
Answer: Hi Jo! MiaBella is 100% Trebbiano grape must. No wine vinegar, added sugars, caramels, flavors, or preservatives.
Question: How long can I keep it once opened
Answer: I've had a bottle open for 6-12 months without any loss of quality.
Question: Wondering if someone can tell me if this is a reduction, and whether it is sweet & extra thick and syrupy... Thank you
Answer: It is sweet and syrupy. Technically it is a reduction but not like cooking down wine vinegar in a pan. The reduction occurs as the vinegar agesin wooden barrels over time the barrels used are smaller. I have purchased three bottles each came with a batch number. I researched and found this to be the highest grade at a reasonable price. I will definitely buy another. You will not need to cook this down to get the sweet thickness of a reduction.

Roland Balsamic Vinegar is aged 5 years in red oak kegs. The vinegar is mixed with "vinegar mother" (a cultivated starter) and is transferred from oak barrels to chestnut, then to mulberry; mellowing at each stage to achievea warm red/brown hue and incredible aroma.

  • ANCIENT PROCESSES - Made from the must of cooked sundried grapes and aged wine vinegar, this gourmet balsamic vinegar ages in barrels. Giuseppe Giusti vinegars are made with a strict process that's been perfected over time.
  • AGED TO PERFECTION OVER 15 YEARS - Our balsamic wine vinegar is aged to perfection in special barrels handed down for generations of the Giusti family. The barrels are made of different types of wood for different steps of the process, so the vinegar will take on the complex flavors of the casks. After a minimum of 15 years, the vinegar can be considered ready for consumption. Only if the vinegar reaches a certain standard of taste can it be bottled and sealed.
  • FLAVORFUL BALSAMIC VINEGAR - The flavor profile of this Gran Deposito Balsamic Vinegar brings notes of tobacco, roasted coffee and a hint of wood. This gourmet balsamic brings a deep brown color and glossy velvety smooth texture. Complex, aromatic, and acidic undertones make this balsamic wine vinegar from Italy a great pairing with fresh pasta such as ravioli, beef, soft cheese, or fresh fruit.
  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS - Excellent on meat entrees, sophisticated appetizers and cruditees, Perfect when drizzled on poached or broiled fish, rich chocolate cakes and ice cream
  • CAREFULLY BOTTLED - Giusti was founded in 1605 and is the longest running vinegar producer in the world. Each Italian vinegar bottle is crafted from an old favorite recipe of Riccardo Giusti and stored in barrels to preserve a complexity of unique flavors. Our promise to you is that each bottle of Giusti, from our premium balsamic vinegars to our variety of flavorful glazes and condiments, contains only the finest quality ingredients to perfectly complement all your favorite recipes.

User questions & answers

Question: What do I serve it with
Answer: This is real balsamic, not the acidic type you find in the market. It is thick and sweet, and thickens with age. We use it on figs, strawberries, blueberries, mangos: great on most fruit. Excellent on ice cream/gelato. Delicious drizzled on red meat when served. Good product.
Question: Is this a 4 leaves balsamic vinegar
Answer: There are no leaf classifications on these balsamic vinegars, but medallions. The more medallions the more prestigious. This is a 4 medallions balsamic which is a super high quality balsamic vinegar!
Question: How many years will this last if stored in a cool dark place
Answer: Best by dates are 12/31/2024
Question: EllaR, If this is a false description of the product, which one do u recommend
Answer: I bought this in Italy and then reordered here, it is the same.

4 GOLD MEDALS "QUARTO CENTENARIO" BALSAMIC VINEGAR

This special quality Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is a limited production created to celebrate the four centuries of Giusti's activities.

Fourth Centenary, obtained from the most precious grapes, is aged for many years in barrels dating back to the 1600's, drawing aromas and flavors left centuries before.

Full bodied, with an unmistakable aromatic bouquet and lasting sweet aftertaste, it is an exceptional complement for many recipes. Drizzle on a grilled steak or sauteed chicken, a wedge of Parmigiano-Reggiano, risotto, fresh strawberries or gelato.

100% Top Quality Grapes

The Aceto Balsamico Balsamic Vinegar of Modena can only be produced in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia where there is an abundance of grapes with just the right concentration of sugars and acidity. The conditions near the Adriatic Sea favor the development of the native acetic flora which determines the maturation and the aging process of the Balsamic Vinegar. Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is produced from specific grapes (usually Lambrusco or Trebbiano varieties).

Ancient Process

Balsamic vinegar is not wine vinegar but is rather made from unfermented grape pressings. The fresh juice is boiled down to thick, sweet syrup. It then goes into wooden barrels, where, along with a vinegar “mother,” it ages. This centuries old process, which can continue indefinitely, further concentrates the vinegar, and the thickening and sweetening intensifies. The choice of types of wood and age of the barrels contribute further character and flavor to the final product.

Aged in Barrels Used Since the 1600s

A great Balsamic Vinegar can not exist without a great collection of barrels. The older a barrel, the more extraordinary properties it leaves to the vinegar. This Italian balsamic vinegar of Modena is made from flavorful sun dried grapes and aged wine vinegar extracted from a series of centuries old casks. The rich sweetness brings notes of fig, molasses, cherry, and light chocolate. It offers a complexity of flavors and velvety texture that balances perfectly with complementary foods.

Four Centuries of Family History

Founding

Founded in 1605, Giuseppe Giusti is the oldest and most prestigious balsamic vinegar producer in the world. The Giusti family was well known at that time for their expert meat and delicatessen in addition to their balsamic vinegar di Modena. The shop window featured the home made vinegar along side other delicacies as a source of pride for the balsamic's excellence. 17 generations of artisans have perfected the aging of this traditional Italian balsamic of Modena.

The Art of Making the Oldest Balsamic in the World

The Giusti family's Acetaia or cellar was positioned at the street level where it could be seen through the shop front. Throughout the successive centuries, generations of family producers have cared for the barrels: scrupulously inspecting them, maintaining them, preserving the purity of the woods. During the many years in which Balsamic Vinegar ages in barrels, the typical flavors and aromas are released and the magic of balsamic is born.

Celebrated Through the Ages

Throughout history Giusti vinegars were presented at the most important international expositions, such as the opening of the Eiffel Tower. Giusti balsamic vinegars therefore became one of the most popular Italian delicacies, searched for by wealthy and nobility of Europe. As in the nineteenth century, the brand continues to receive recognition from leading magazines, such as the American “Specialty Food”, Germany’s “Der Feinschmecker”, the Belgian “Gastromania” and the Italian “Altroconsumo”.
